KEN BROWN 12" Wall-Mounted Exhaust Fan

G. S. Tipsword: Added to existing pair of fans for generator shed ventilation. Quiet operation. sturdy construction, and, unlike the basically identical iPower version, doesn't have the blue film on the vents that takes forever to remove. But, it also doesn't move as much air as the (louder) iPower. Disappointed at that. Basic version has no cord. Understand since they don't know codes or requirements for customer's location, but a strain relief or grommet would have been nice since the hole is not std 1/2".
If noise is your priority, this is the choice. If absolute air movement (for this size/price fan) is the main requirement, suggest the iPower model.

Amazon Customer: I purchased this fan (and the similar statis vent) to go in my small greenhouse. I was expecting a temperature controller on the unit but that was my fault after looking at a million different fans on Amazon. The fan itself is quit and the louvers open great. I added a small strip of weatherstripping to form a better seal to my structure. I also built a protective cover to keep wind driven rain out and kids from tampering with it.

If I had one negative thing to say about it would be the aluminum needs to be a matte finish so as not to put the glare of the sun right in my eyes as I sit on the porch. I know, serious problem, right?

Seriously, I did a great deal of looking and am overall very pleased with this product.

Dave and Rhonda Bartow: This fan is small enough to install in a corner of a coop. And powerful enough to keep the coop dry and aerated. I have it on a timer. Great fan.

G. Murray: I bought this to remove heat from a small room where I have a kiln. I does the job quite adequately. I'm very satisfied. It has a powerful motor that when on automatically opens the vent. When off the vent closes. It is noisy, but I don't hang around while firing anyway.

Consumer: The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because the shutters don't open up all the way. I need to open them fully by hand. Then they don't fully close so I need to manually do that. The fan itself is awesome.

J. Hammet: As mentioned, the sheet that comes with fan (for the variable speed switch) is the complete opposite of the pdf one can access.
Also, the instructions for the wiring on the Amazon website are completely opposite. (Wrong.)

Black wire (from power source) connects to black wire of switch. White wire coming off of switch/speed controller is wired to black wire coming out of connector box on back of fan.

White (from power source) connects to white of connector box on fan.

A receptical box is need for speed controller.

And, as noted, there is not much difference between highest and lowest speed.

It is quiet.

Ideally, there would be a metal flexible power cable from controller to connection box on back.

Will probably buy a second one.
