Laurie Guyon: Love the time travel and ghost combo. Unexpected and thought provoking. Many twists and turns through both the love story, and of the main characters finding themselves after so much loss.

Thessa: I really enjoyed this novel, you could say - I binged it! I really couldn't put it down. I loved the storyline and concept of it and it's one of my favourites from Kelley Armstrong. I would definitely recommend this!

Kindle Customer: I asked my fb book club for something different to read due to being at a loss of material. I can't put into words how enthralling and how deep this book takes you. A book for someone who loves mystery, stong characters and a good slow burn. Nore for those who have a little more life experience under their belt But don't give my weak explanation a second thought. Just buy it.

Robin Snyder: A Stitch in Time is the first book of the series. It is a gothic romance set in the Thorne Manor house in present day and a time 200 years ago. There are murders to be solved and ghosts whose motivations are not quite known. It isn't often a time travel book works for me, but in this context it really does. The mystery, the romance and even the time shifting add to the entire experience.

Bronwyn hasn't been back to Thorne Manor since the summer she was fifteen. That was the summer she fell in love with a boy from the past and lost her Uncle to a tragic accident. Now she is a widow and has just returned to a house she has inherited almost twenty years later. There are ghosts in the house and they are trying to speak to Bronwyn or maybe they are trying to hurt her. She also thought it was maybe a dream in the past, the boy she fell in love with, but he is there 200 years ago and she has just fallen back into the past to see the man he has become.

I had a great time in this story. It is almost a blend of the gothic feel of Withering Heights and the mystery So I Married an Ax Murderer. But it totally works. There are some rumors surrounding William, Bronwyn must decipher...

Mina: I love the books of Kelly Armstrong (well most of them, anyway), so I bought the book although I‘m neither a real time-travel story fan, nor big on romance.
And although I could reaffirm for myself that yes, romance mostly bores me, I did like the time travel aspect here as well as the book as a whole.

That was due to the main character, 38 year old Bronwyn Dale, the fabulous atmosphere with believable horror elements and last not least the mystery Bronwyn is bent to solve.
And yes, the romance was well written, I can admit that.

Bronwyn inherits a manor in rural England, where she spent her childhood and youth‘s summers with her aunt and uncle. Through some „stitch in time“, she time traveled there two hundred years into the past, where she met William Thorne, the same age as she and who became her close friend. Well that was until she was convinced by circumstances that she must have been delusional. So when she comes back as an adult after a decade, she couldn’t be more suprised that she really is able to time travel at the manor, that William is real and that nowadays Thorne Manor is haunted by ghosts with unfinished business.

Bronwyn is a...

Lindsey Gray: 4.5 Stars!

I’m a huge fan of time travel. Walking through stones like in Outlander or traveling through space and time in a blue box. I love it all. I’ve read stories and watched movies and shows about the theory of time travel. In this novel, time travel is revealed in a way I’ve never seen before.

Imagine there is a place where two timelines run parallel to each other. One in the present and one two hundred years in the past. Not just anybody could slip through time, only one who is sensitive or has the sight can do it. In this novel, Bronwyn Dale is that person.

This story has many layers and is a lot to unpack, but Armstrong makes it work in a way she never has before. She challenged herself to write a story unlike any of her others and I believe her challenge is her readers gain.

As a small child, Bronwyn spent her summers at her great-aunt’s manor house next to an English moor. Until she was five, Bronwyn slipped through a tiny stitch in time through her bedroom to play with her best friend, William, two hundred years in the past. After her parents divorced, she didn’t visit for ten years. At age fifteen, their friendship blossomed into...

kimbacaffeinate: love time travel romances and this one adds a ghostly mystery, creeptastic suspense and a murder-mystery. Even the neighbors in the present are brilliant, but I am getting ahead of myself.

The tale takes place at Thorne Manor, in the English countryside near a small village whose property backs up to the moors. As a young girl, Bronwyn Dale could pass through a time slip in her great-aunt’s house, where she visited William Thorne, a boy her own age, born two centuries earlier. One night tragedy struck and Bronwyn never returned.

Now, twenty years later, she inherits the manor and returns for the summer. She has convinced herself that William was just an imaginary childhood friend. The tale that unfolds had all the elements of a fireside ghost story and time-travel romance.

William Thorne is no longer a young teenage boy, but a man who lives alone in the manor (in his time).

In Bronwyn’s room, there is a stitch in the fabric of time that allows her to slip into William’s time. As the two renew their friendship and possibly more, Bronwyn is seeing ghosts in the present who seem to warn her and the town shares history about the mad lord of the...
