šŸ‘‘QueenofbookReviews: I've been meaning to start this series for a while. This is only my third read by Lana, but she is quickly becoming a fav fantasy author. This was a little slow burn in the beginning, but that's to be expected in the first book. I loved Rush and Clarke after what they'd both been through they deserved a little hea.

The last thing Clarke remembered was being with her friends and watching the world as they knew it came to an end. But the world Clarke has woken up in is very different. Though two thousand years forward, it's more like time went backward. Rush has been invisible to everyone around him since he was cursed, part of his punishment for breaking the breeding law. The mother of his child wasn't so lucky. She paid with her life. Their paths cross when Clarke is captured by a fae hunting party, and for the first time since his curse, he is seen. Clarke begs for his help, not knowing about bargains and fae. Rush forms a plan to use Clarke to see his son and right a wrong. But first, they'll have to make it to the order and survive each other. Humans are now hunted and kill3d on sight. So Clarke will have to keep all that she is hidden, even as the ability to see the...

Annalisa.J: First book Iā€™ve read by this author and will definitely read the others! The world building was great, the characters were dynamic and fun and the tension between MMC and FMC was thick and spicy! The plot hit all the great tropes and kept me turning the pages! Fun read!

Otherwordly.reader: This book blew my expectations out of the water, considering that I was hesitant to pick it up. It seriously did not disappoint! I think apart from the romance, guardians and Worldbuilding factors, what I loved most about this book was how authentic the characters felt. They just felt so human and relatable with their emotions and reactions, which is something that's hard to find in a book. That is, this goes for everyone minus the villains in the book.
I really loved how Clarke and Rush's romance had a spark from the beginning but built up over time. There was a sprinkle of pining and a solid fated mates troupe that I thought worked really well. I loved how much they cared for each other, supported one another through tough times and even if their love was spoken primarily through actions, their bond was just all around truly special.
The world this all took place in was so unique and well thought out! I loved the guardians and the whole concept surrounding them. I can't wait to witness the romances between the guardians and special humans coming up. I also am eager to see how the continuing plot unfolds!

Amazon Customer: The romance and spice in this book are so delicious!! The build up is just perfect. The world the author created it so detailed and amazing, I felt like I was living there. Such a unique storyline. I highly recommend this book!

[CW (possible spoilers for people who donā€™t like CWs): I would normally never read something that has SA as a CW, but since I went into this blind, I didnā€™t know SA was in this book. But it was very, very mild and done tastefully. And Iā€™d probably classify it more as attempted SA, and even that seems like too strong of a description for it. However, I am not triggered by SA and it may be too much for someone who is sensitive to that.]

For the author (if you read these) - I got this for free from the summer Stuff Your Kindle Day and finally got around to reading it. And I just bought the next in the series. Thank you! Iā€™ll make a post on my reader group about how much I loved this book.

Daniela | @daniela_endless_tbr: Reread with paperback and audiobook for the Readalong leading up to AWORAR:

āļøāļøāļøāļø/6.
šŸŒ¶ļøšŸŒ¶ļø/5.

First of all the art inside the book are amazing.
I loved Rushā€™s grumpy a$$. Rereading this I understood better why Rush ā€œneededā€ to be cursed. He needed to remember why he was a guardian in the first place and Clarke was right there to point it out to him.
Clarke was pressured to help end the world but she has been given a second chance and she took it with the resolution to help save Elphyne.
I loved Clarke and her non bs. She didnā€™t buy what others were offering and she was right.
Their banter was also fun.
Their adventures were enlightening and I can already see where Lana put smalls seeds to the overall plot.
Willow just put a smile on my face. That girl is gonna be trouble but also adorable.
Thorne has a journey ahead of him and I canā€™t wait to reread his book next.

Alexis: I first read The Longing of Lone Wolves in early January 2023. Prior to reading this book my go-to genre was historical romance of the Scottish Highland variety. When I came across this first book of the Fae Guardians series I decided to take a chance since I like SciFi television shows. I completely fell in love with Lanaā€™s world building, story-telling, and character development. When I completed the book I quickly gave it 5 stars on my Kindle, then moved on to the second book in the series. I didnā€™t stop to write a review back then because I had to know what happened next in the series! I decided to re-read the story that started my newfound love for paranormal romance, and contribute to all the rave reviews of the book.

The Longing of Lone Wolves had everything I could have wanted including a strong realistic female lead who has flaws, a complex & ruggedly handsome male lead, the idea of fated mates, spicy scenes šŸŒ¶šŸŒ¶šŸŒ¶, and most importantly a HEA. I devoured books 1 through 8 in the span of a week! I have since joined Lanaā€™s Angels Facebook page and her newsletter. I am so looking forward to the release of the 9th book in the series.

Harribo: I would have liked to have seen more of Clarke's past and her connection with her friends, but overall the character and world building was good and made me invested in Clarke's relationships with Rush and other characters. I love the overarching plot and how Lana is executing it as well as how each couple gets their own book to develop their relationship. Also 10/10 for the spicy scenes.

Mrs M: In the main, I enjoyed the story and liked the characters. However, there was too much detail but at the same time not enough explanation where it mattered so I found it a bit confusing. E.g. thawing was mentioned a few times but no explanation of why this happened and why Clarke was frozen in the first place. Also, mana seemed to have many differnt properties, uses and effects but this information was dribbled slowly throughout the book and it would have been less confusing if this was explained more near the start of the story.

There were a lot of modern American expressions which might have made sense in that time period but I felt they didn't go well with the setting. Finding a sewing kit in the drawer of the Inn that catered to a variety of shady characters seemed weird. I didn't understand why Clarke knew she was very powerful and could save the world. And, there were way too many characters so not enough character development.

It was still a very enjoyable story but I'm not sure I will read more from this series.

Kathryn: I loved this book! The FMC, Clarke, lived in modern day where the Earth was dying. Humans pushed the Earth's resources to far and now face the consequences. After a flash ice age, Clarke wakes up in the future, years in the future to a whole new world. Magic, shifters and fae now rule Earth. Having no idea what is happening, Clarke is found by the MMC, Rush. Rush is a fae guardian who was banished to never be seen by anyone. Having not been seen by anyone for years, he is shocked to find that Clarke is able to see and talk to him. Thinking this is his ticket out of his curse, they travel together The Order.

I absolutely loved this world! I was not expecting the post-apocalyptic setting but it completely worked! I fell in love with the characters and the world building. Thought this book set up future books perfectly and I can't wait to continue the series!

The Longing of Lone Wolves is an exciting start to the Fae Guardians series. The thing that sold me on the book by the end was the world, even if the world-building dominates this book a bit too much.

Rush is a Fae Guardian, a wolf-shifter whose powers make him a ruthless protector of Elphyne. That is, he was one until he broke the rules half a century ago and was cut off from his power and cursed to be invisible to everyone. Now, he serves as a lonely protector, keeping the monsters and humans away from his people until a human washes up on his shore and is the only being that can see him. Clarke wakes up with no knowledge of where she is, only that it is not the same Las Vegas she left. Clarke ends up getting tied to Rush as he sees her as his ticket to getting his curse broken, but she ends up being much more important than either of them knows as evils from the past have made their way to this new world and threaten everything.

This book has a lot of heavy lifting to do to explain the world and the magic system. Itā€™s both a fantasy novel, yet also grounded in our reality. But it also involves time...
