Aaron P. Yanagihara: I was hoping that I could dose my cat like I was using a syringe. It looks like a syringe, but you have to twist it to get the food to come out. The tube is really large and that makes it difficlt to dose a sick wiggly cat.

RainfireRainfire: This thing is huge, so fair warning. Onto the good stuff! My 18 year old (vet calls him geriatric lol) kitty Psi-fi has hyperthyroidism, being treated by medication. Over the last month or two, he's gotten increasingly pickier about eating, it was like a roulette of trying to find what flavor, brand, or texture he'd actually eat some of. Cue completely unnerving weightloss, and sleeping far more than we're used to him doing, moving slower, and much more quiet vocally. We'd been doing supplements (nutrivite and the like), but this one's specifically for cats that aren't eating enough or normally.
Within a WEEK, we've gotten our crotchety deaf one-eyed wonder back to his very vocal version of normal. It's extraordinary that I can attribute this directly to giving him this supplement. He's eating better, more energy, and most importantly... We're not terrified the way we were, that we were on the brink of losing him.
Practical stuff experience: he's extremely picky anyway, if he knows it's not his normal food or treats, he'll refuse it, including trying to mix into his food; putting it on his paw, he ignores it completely and I have to clean it off. (Once he figured out...

Kathryn Roberts: The 1st time I bought this Under the Weather Pet | Ready Cal gel for Cats 100cc | High Calorie Nutritional Supplement my little fur monster actually liked it, now a year later it's not happening without a Fight and a MESS!! This gel is Sooo Thick and Sticky I have to mix it really hard with a little warm water to get it to where I can draw it into a syringe. What a nightmare trying to boost his calorie intake. The reviews for the powder version aren't really good so that isn't an option. Not sure I will purchase this again

a consumer: Yeah, forget the directions to dab a little on a paw and let the cat lick it off. My cat was horrified at being smudged. She wouldn’t lick it off a plate either. I didn’t like taking a glob and shoving it into her mouth, and you should’ve seen her incredibly unhappy and disgusted face the one time I did.
I got this to increase the calories my cat took in during a time she was too sick to eat well or enough. On that count, it’s fine and does offer calories and some nutrients. The issue is getting it into your cat.
This stuff is thick- you can’t syringe it in, and it doesn’t mix into food easily. What I ended up doing was putting a teaspoon of this and a teaspoon and a half of baby food in a tiny container and microwaving it 8 seconds. Then I could stir it all together, let it cool and syringe feed it.
All the high calorie gels have questionable ingredients that you probably wouldn’t want to give your cat long term but this stuff *did* help keep weight on my cat til she recovered sufficiently to eat more on her own. At the same time I used this, I also tried the Tomlyn brand. I prefer that one - it’s far easier to get out of the tube and (after...

David Scott: I have an older cat (20 years) who has hypothyroidism and she has gotten pretty thin. The Under The Weather supplement provides a much needed calorie boost for her a couple times a day. Since giving it to my cat, she eats fairly regularly. So, it seems to stimulate her appetite.
I'm supposed to rate the flavor. I didn't taste it, but the cat seems to like it most of the time. So, I guess it tastes good. It seems a tad pricey for the amount you get but it lasts a while...for cats anyway.
If you're looking for something to get some extra calories in your pet, this is a good choice.
