Kimberly: Easy to use. Haven’t been disappointed. Does what it’s supposed to do

Yvonne1011: Not the prettiest sight, but keeps the heat in instead of it literally going out the window. Our electric bill dropped a decent amount after applying. Way more than we spent on the product. Easy to apply. We do this every year.

Simeon Cox: No complaints with the installation, some of my windows are sliding sash windows so it was a bit fiddly to install but that's not the fault of the product. Pretty forgiving of bad workmanship as a blow with the hairdryer takes out the creases and gives a great finish. Definitely notice the difference in terms of insulation and sound proofing. Worth doing if you can't fit double glazing for any reason.

A. HansA. Hans: I bought these window kits to help reduce my heating bills and keep my home warmer during the cold weather months. I was impressed by how easy they were to install and how well they worked. They create an added barrier between the outdoor air and the inside of my home, blocking drafts and air leaks that cause heat loss.

The kits come with clear shrink film that is easy to cut and apply to the inside of your window. You just need a measuring tape, scissors and a hair dryer to install them. The film shrinks tightly around the window frame, creating a smooth and transparent seal. You can still see clearly through the windows and let in natural light.

The kits are also easy to remove once the warmer weather arrives. You just peel off the film and discard it. They do not leave any residue or damage on the windows. I have used these kits for several winters and I have noticed a significant difference in my comfort and energy savings. I would highly recommend Duck Brand Shrink Film Window Kits to any of my friends who wants to winterize their home in a simple and effective way.

J. Sayson: My mother in law has an older house (1960’s), with a lot of single pane windows that she cannot afford to replace (she is in her 80’s). She always complains about a draft, and the fact that she keeps her furnace pretty much cranked on all day an night. We put this insurlator on her windows and what a difference it makes! Now mind you, when these are one the windows, you have no access to things on the window sills, and in my MIL’s case, it means her window shades mounted in the window sills have to pretty much stay in one position until the spring. Thank goodness for valence curtains.

It cuts the drafts 100%, and the temperature in the house is now better regulated, and at least 5 - 10 degrees warmer. Her furnace actually shuts off and can maintain 72 degrees (20 degrees C) with relative ease.

Highly recommended if you have older windows in your home.

Jess: These work so well at keeping heat in all summer, but they only adhere properly to the windows in our house that have metal frames. The tape worked for a few days in our older windows that are framed with wood, but then just fell off.

Highly recommend for drafty homes that have metal window frames!

HSC: I was expecting a big faff and a slightly cheap product, but actually it was pretty easy to do and it works. Setting it up took a little getting used to - by window three I was a lot quicker. It's obviously not like real double glazing, you can see the film a bit and it's not particularly beautiful round the edges, but it definitely helps with keeping the cold out on draughty sash windows, and it seems to have eliminated condensation completely. It has also cut down on street noise a lot.
The size of the plastic was generous - a few centimetres bigger than advertised, as was the amount of tape. I found the roll-on method ok ( as opposed to unfolding the film, measuring and cutting) - convenient in some ways but you have to be quite careful to get the top edge at the exact right angle so the left side falls exactly straight and doesn't miss the tape. Also when you cut through the folded film on the right edge you potentially waste some which you might have been able to use for another window.
I haven't had to take it off yet... but so far am very pleased with it.

Amazon Customer: I had to do it twice to the first window I was installing it. Lessons learned:
a) Once you've cleaned the area to stick the tape, make sure that it is completely dried (air dry is best, because wiping it drags the moisture which the tape cannot stick on)
b) Peel the liner of the bottom and unfold the sheet BEFORE taking off the liner of the tape for the sides - the sheet sticks too easily too the tape, but the tape doesn't stick easily to whatever window surface
c) When you put the liner on, roll it on with something heavier to ensure it sticks, and leave it for at least 30 minutes before you start the install
d) When using the hair dryer - do NOT use the highest setting; the heat can burn through the sheet if held too long in one place (my first installation had holes by the side rendering it unusable)

Once fixed, I can feel less of a breeze coming in the extremely thin and not insulated windows in this house.

ALLFLUKSD: Because we have a 150 g tank in our home, and we live in a cold climate, AND we have old windows, we tend to get A LOT of condensation on our windows, which often freezes over in the middle of the winter on our coldest days. The condensation was leading to pooling of water on our wood windows and causing mold to grow- not great, so I was pretty desperate. I was honestly a little bit dubious that this product would help, but I decided to give it a go because I wanted so bad for SOMETHING to work.

I'll start with what I liked:
I was actually AMAZED with how well these worked. Before we would feel a cold "draft" (not sure it was cold air blowing through or just colder because the windows are so bad) next to the windows. This significantly cut down on that- there was a noticeable temperature difference using the plastic sheets. Because of this, it also reduced the amount of condensation we saw and although there was still some water on the bottom of the plastic film, there was no where near the amount we saw without it. This is such a significant win, I would sing the praises of this product from the mountains and recommend it to anyone who lives in a colder climate....

ItsAMe_MarioItsAMe_Mario: I love this stuff! It works perfectly for drafty windows - Like in apartments. Should also keep out bugs, dirt, and perhaps a light sound barrier.
Installation is beyond simple. Anyone can do this, and alone. There is plenty of room for error.
As it happens, I had perfect application on four 3x5 windows. Flawless. But, I want to talk about something that I've noticed a few others mention that I was curious about myself. (I got on here hoping to find an answer, and I didn't. So I'm going to try to answer it)

The first day after installation of these, I noticed sound coming from them. It wasn't from *wind* like some people assume. I think it was a mix of static and tension, (and maybe sunlight?) Though, I heard it at night too. The sound - slow, soft crinkling of a potato chip bag.. Usually every 20 seconds or so.
It's the time that leaves me to believe it's some form of static discharge.
This went on for two days before I decided it wasn't 'settling' and I started to think of what was causing it.

Well, if this were permanent, you can bet I wouldn't be giving this product 5 stars. So here's how I fixed it.

Remember how I said I had a flawless...
