Spaceace: I bought the version with a thermostat. I bought the white so I could see how much water was left.l from the outside.
It does heat the water to a temperature that causes steam but not a full on boil, which is good. It then shuts itself off. It's hot water in a collapsible container so I was very careful when pouring the water out. I read earlier reviews about the silicone smell and went through several run throughs heating and dumping the water. I also very carefully washed it with mild dishwashing soap, avoiding the electrical chord input. All seems to be good. No chemical smell. The water tastes like water. It is a bit tricky to get it to collapse, but for the price and my needs it looks to be a good choice. My purpose for the product is to heat hot water in a motel that does not provide a microwave and the coffee maker is a Keurig. I want hot water for cocoa and oatmeal in the mornings for my family before we visit the neighboring theme park that is $$$. This product will save me time. Sunshine830: Bought this to use in the hotel room so we could make our own tea and coffee. Worked perfectly, just be careful when you’re pouring. Fit nicely in our luggage and our mornings on vacation went smoothly bc no one had to walk down to get coffee/tea and spend extra $$ (rather spend it on food). Overall happy with our purchase.

Richelle Williams: Nice product. Do not leave plugged in. The kettle will continue to cook to keep the water at boiling. The cord fits nicely inside the kettle when compressed for travel.
