Gemma Gillen: I use these for running on piste and icy roads. They are great. I feel confident on my feet and they seem to be very durable.

Gerry M: I've just come back from the Lake District where I wore the micospikes for the first time. There was a lot of ice on the hills but not enough to put the microspikes on. Towards the end of the walk, I was descending a very steep grassy bank (one of the steepest - from Graystones to Scawgill bridge) and, after I slipped over for the fourth time, I decided to put the microspikes on. The grip is phenomenal, gives a lot of confidence and I had no more concerns on the descent.

Very light to carry, easy to put on/off and fit the boots perfectly. When I bought them I deliberated which size to buy as some reports suggested they were slightly larger than advertised - I decided on the Medium microspikes and they are a perfect fit on my size 10.5 boots. I also bought the bag - well worth the money as it protects other items in the rucksack from the spikes

I have no hesitation in recommending these and they are a must in my hillwalking kit.

Mark's Amazon: These cleats are great, period. Should last a long time.

I love the reviews and can often learn new things from them. However, it is often hard to find all similar products without specifically searching for them. One comment mentioned "Hillsound Trail Crampons" which I never heard of, even after extensively searching Amazon for all ice traction products. Suddenly they show up in searches, but not a month ago, what gives? See my comment on those below.

KAHTOOLA MICROSPIKES
Medium fits my men's size 9, 12" long boots easily, yet plenty snug. I would bet men's sizes 8-10 boots or shoes would all fit just fine. The cleats are 1/2" or 3/4" with chains that wrap around edges of boots/shoes for lasting durability. Quickest to put on and take off. The rubber part is shaped like a round ring and looks sort of confusing how it would go on and fit but, the front is labeled and the rubber stretches easily. Put it over your toe and pull over your heel.

The Hillsound "Trail" Crampons look nearly identical to the Kahtoola Microspikes. The rubber, chains, 1/2" to 3/4" spikes all look the same but the Hillsound have a strap for the top of the foot arch....

SenRaq: I AM A HUGE FAN OF THESE. I cannot say enough. I want to personally thank the company who makes this product.

Let me get to the gist. I wear this product for almost all my hikes. Ice and snow is obvious, but these things work wonders on good old fashioned dirt. Walking up hills or switchbacks or walking back down for that matter have become a breeze. They are extremely durable. I also notice that they do well crossing wet river rock. The spikes have really held up. I also use these on rocky paths and they are good as new after I am done. In short, these MICROspikes are a must, and work on almost all terrain types, and I am very happy to own them.

I am 6 foot and 215 pounds. I have worn them on about 10 hikes and counting and they still look brand new. Very high quality materials.

They pack very small in a day pack, or you can hang them on the outside of your pack.

Let me reiterate, you can wear these and excel on regular dirt trails. I have gotten many compliments on them when I wear them. Also when descending, I have found I no longer need my trekking poles. I use the trekking poles anyway, but my grip to the path is...

AmazonCustomer: இ Fuzzy Wuzzy's Summary:
ѾѾѾѾѾ Highly recommended with warm fuzzies!

As a longtime wearer of Yaktrax, I decided to give these a try during winter hikes high up in the Colorado Rockies (with mountain summits at 14,000 feet). Call me a Yaktrax convert, but having these spikes underneath your feet adds a HUGE increase in traction and confidence on slippery rocks and rough ledges with treacherous drop-offs, loose gravel, detritus and scree, all of which are covered with snow and ice during the winter. Now, during winter, I always pack my Microspikes, snowshoes, and ice axe whenever I am hiking up a snow-covered mountain. My Yaktrax have been relegated to more pedestrian city duties such as shoveling snow off of the driveway and sidewalk, walking the dog or walking around town on snowy days, etc.

While I like these Microspikes more than Yaktrax when I am hiking on trails, scrambling up snow-covered boulders, or walking across any unpaved surface that is covered in snow and ice, the Yaktrax feel nicer when used in the city on paved surfaces. On paved surfaces, these Microspikes are far noisier than Yaktrax, which can detract from your...
