Amazon Customer: Cats don't like it, but my wife does!

Anon: We tried a lot of things with our cat. We tried the sprays on the furniture (smells terrible) and we tried spraying him with a squirt bottle. He thought this was a game so he would tip toe back to our couch and stare us dead in the eye while he slowly started to claw. Then we would spray and he would run off again thinking he’s funny. The cycle would keep repeating.
Anyway ... this worked wonders. Our cat is very smart so we made sure he was not around when the tape was applied or removed. He tried to scratch it twice, didn’t like the stickiness and that was the end of it. We took the tape off probably 8-12 weeks later but didn’t let him see us do it. He didn’t try on that couch again.
Round 2 - new house, new couch and he was scratching again. We have applied it, but I noticed that I never saw him try to scratch once the tape was applied this time. I’m wondering if he has realized it’s shiny. He hasn’t been scratching but I guess we’ll see if he’s smart when it comes off.
HUGE roll - been through 2 couches, a tall bed frame, and 3 kitchens bar stools and I still have some left.

TLynn: I recently bought a new house and decided it was time to adopt 2 kittens. New house means new furniture and new furniture does not go well with new kittens. Their claws were so long and snagging on everything and they hadn't quite discovered the scratch post. I put this tape all over the front and sides of the couch. It is really sticky! So sticky that my ankles and legs sometimes got stuck when I stood up. If you have dogs, it will collect their fur so you may have to change the tape out more frequently. The kittens have grown a bit so I was able to take it off the bottom part of the couch where they used to play. It was a little hard to peel and took a lot of lint with it but did not leave any sort of mark, thank goodness. I still have it on the corners but they don't hardly try to scratch it anymore and love their scratch post. I will probably leave it on to train them a little longer but I don't think I will have to tape the couch permanently. There is plenty left on the roll if I ever need to add more. Great quality product that served it's purpose.

karloucha: This stuff is fantastic!!! My sons cats were staying with us while he was deployed and after several months they decided my antique sofa looked like a great scratching post. I tried the citrus spray; I think they kind of liked the smell and kept scratching. Then I ordered this tape and it all changed. The tape applies easily, is clear and stays in place well. The cats did not like feel of it and totally stopped even going near the sofa. As to its stickiness let me tell you it is sticky. I was making hand rolled noodles one evening and when I get the butter and flour in the bowl I tend to come I and sit on the arm of the sofa and watch the news with hubby while rubbing the butter into the flour before adding the liquid. So there I sat working the butter and flour together with both hands when I suddenly realized I was sitting on the taped arm of the sofa. I tried to stand up but I was stuck fast to the sofa. Both hands are covered with flour and butter and of no use in my predicament. Hubby is crying he’s lauughing so hard. I finally managed to roll off the tape but darn near lost my pants while getting unstuck. Yep, this tape is sticky. When son retrieved his cats and took them...

Evan Dietz: The product description and pictures are 100% accurate but cats are so strange. My one cat has been ripping up and chewing on carpet (caused an expensive surgery a few months ago) while the other claws at the couch. The couch problem worked like a charm, plus an added scratching post nearby so that little fella has somewhere else to go. 5 stars there.
As far as Bernie the carpet eating moron? Well now he's Bernie the carpet and tape eating moron. He ripped the tape up off the carpet and started chewing on it first encounter with it. Not the expected impact. Went with the more expensive option of getting those plastic matts that go on office floors for chairs with wheels and it worked better.
Definitely feel like the product is exactly as described and can work with a lot if cats for sure, but I guess mine just isn't normal. Hate giving the 4 star instead of a 5, but everyone has a different experience. Different strokes for different folks!
