Dps: While I don’t know much about Rick and Morty I do love D&D. I can say that this set is similar to the other starters in that it has a small rule booklet, the adventure, 1 set of dice, and this one has premade character sheets. It’s a must for the collection and I heard that d&d beyond lost their licensing to use it on the site. I’m not sure if that also includes the physical material but, pick it up while you can encase it gets discontinued.

Michael CampbellMichael Campbell: I bought this as a fan of R&M as well as a fan D&D who is looking to get back into the game for the first time in a while.

The only 5th edition item I owned before this, was the original 5e Starter Set that came out back before the core books came out. I also bought the 5e Essentials Set at the same time as this R&M set. So from a D&D player's perspective, I'm going to compare this set to those. (I've seen the materials from the Stranger Things set online, but don't own that one to compare it against this or the others.)

First off, the box came in great condition, no issues there.

The dice set that came with the set is quite an interesting colour scheme. You might almost think they would glow in the dark, but they do not. It is an 11-piece dice set, much like the one that comes with the Essentials Kit. So this is an upgrade to the Starter Kit, that only came with 6 dice. The dice are good quality, though the edges are a bit more rounded than the ones that came with the other two 5e box sets, though that is likely not much of an issue for someone buying a starter kit. they are comparable in quality to the 'premium' 10-piece sets I was buying...

Jay: We like Rick and Morty. We love Dungeons and Dragons. Could this be the perfect marriage of the two? I think so!

Wasn't really sure what to expect with this one, but got it on a whim and we're so happy we did. Everything is properly themed with Rick and Morty feels. The artwork is funny and fresh and the combination of the two worlds makes one wonder why on earth this didn't happen sooner and with a hundred other IPs. (Hello Bob's Burger D&D??)

The adventure is wild and the books are loaded with narrative from Rick and parts that made me laugh out loud while reading through them and have made for incredibly zany adventures as I've run it for our D&D group. It's wild and irreverent and brings the best of both worlds out. Never before has D&D had such a crazy rhythm to it and we're having far too much fun.

Speaking of theming, the included pre-gen characters are fantastic and perfectly suited towards the R&M characters that they represent. (Summer has the drama bomb flaw - brilliant!) Everything just shines and you can tell a lot of love was put into this version.

Amazon Customer: It is a starter set, from the point of view of Rick from Rick & Morty. I had no idea of what Rick & Morty was.
The production values are very high. I found a set of yellow dice (basic, dull, but always useful), a rules booklet, an adventure booklet (Lvl 1-5), a screen (beautiful), a set of pregenerated PC sheets. The art is beautiful.

Rulebook: basic rules, but with the comments of "Cynical Troll" Rick. It's really, really funny.

Adventure: a Lvl 1-5 introductory dungeon crawl. I have no idea of what Rick & Morty the show is about; I imagine there is a bunch of humour from there. Thing is, this is real fun even to read. Could be interesting to try this style of play!

Who's the buyer of this product? Maybe the Rick & Morty fan. I'm a grognard and I enjoy reading both the rulebook and the adventure for the humour. This is not for normal play but I could try a new campaign with this style of play, seems fun to me.
The product also deserves to be bought by a collector as a testimony of this D&D 5e age in which crossovers were tried to attract new players. This is a crossover done well.

Khadeem Caesar: As with most starter sets it contains a streamlined version of the Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition rules, an adventure (this one for up to five 1st level characters) that will take players up to 3rd level, a set of dice, a DM's screen, and five pre-generated characters. The dice consists of a regular set of polyhedrals with two d20s and four d6s in greenish-yellow with blue lettering.

The adventure was supposedly written by Rick, and it shows through every bit of the content. If you like the comic book or the original animated series, this boxed set is for you. In fact, it's the Rickest of Rick adventures possible.

According to the comic book series. Rick is an old school power gamer, so even when the adventure provides roleplay opportunities in addition to the usual hack-and-slash, Rick's running commentary makes it clear which option he prefers.
