There’s a ton of names! I picked it up for the random encounter tables, and while i wish the book was just those, i found a lot of other stuff i really liked.
More paths for every class , way too much background stuff, some rules like tying knots and identifying spells being cast (very similar to what i was already doing) , more spells, more magic items , some expanded rules on traps, and yes, loads of names.
Great sourcebook.

AshMiaLily: There's always something in this book that can be added to a game! I was able to get it here cheaper than the cover price, and I do not regret a single dollar of it. There are items and spells that I have allowed players who I thought were open-minded and creative to discover in game and really added some deeper dimensions to their characters with some creative use. It's always fun to have a little extra color and flavor in a game that is not included in the phb, but still balanced enough not to cause issues. I highly recommend Xanathar's guide for that extra bit of spice, color, and flavor to many aspects of a game.

lalgratton: The physical book is so much cheaper than the digital version, how is that right? The quality is great, the price reasonable and my students find it easy to look at and use, it's a win win.

Jared: This is definitely one of the must have books if you DM or are considering DM’ing. Lots of rules (suggestions) on how to manage loot and magic items was something that really helped me when making little one shots for groups above lv 1 and the magic item sections makes up for the lack of options in the DMG.
This book goes on sale a good couple times every year so if you can catch it on a good sale it makes the deal even sweeter, this is a great book for DM’s and players alike and makes a great gift for anyone who plays D&D
