R Sugden: This is a favorite Easter story in our family. This is actually our second copy; our original copy was a board book but I decided I wanted a full sized copy because Jan Brett’s illustrations are so beautiful. She is an amazing artist and has published many beautiful books, but in this one she truly goes above and beyond. My kids love looking at the “other” story that’s going on in the margins of the book, and her details are just fantastic. We also love the moral of the story: that helping another, even at the cost of what you may want, is beautiful and worth celebrating.

MamaT: I read this to my children during Easter time and it is a sweet story but the illustration is what steals the show here. So intricate! We will be pulling this out every Easter to come.

Amazon Customer: I love Jan Brett’s illustrations and this book didn’t disappoint. And the story line was cute. It teaches to put others first which is so rare these days.

Christina Findlay: Simple and fun story about an Easter egg painting competition. Many beautiful eggs are featured. The Easter colours fave the art a more youthful feel, whereas with the author’s other stories, I feel her formal style and colour palette is more geared towards the adult eye. Story dawdles a bit. I think it could have been a couple pages shorter. My favourite page was the one where the Easter bunny arrives. I love his outfit and carriage. Would recommend.
