Industrial Tools 6-12V Circuit Tester with Indicator Light and Lifetime Warranty

Blue Adept: I've had this for 5 years and replaced the bulb once, and repaired and soldered the alligator clip with a sturdier one I got from the hardware store. I am not certain but if used on a car which normally has about 12 volts, and the bulb I'm using is rated at 3 watts, I'm assuming the amperage for the test light will draw about .25 amps or 250 milliamps. I hope somebody can correct me on that. Sturdy ABS construction which hardly a scratch over the years displays a clear bright light and the cord is still intact. I've had this for 5 years and I can vouch for the versatility of this test light from owning one over the years. It's helped initially for troubleshooting blown fuses, and since then I've used it for various jobs including testing starters, alternators and relay fuses as I've progressed and attained knowledge from car maintenance. If this is from the same company that made them 5 years ago, yes, 5 stars. I keep this in my vehicle along with my $12 multimeter, a flashlight and 1/4 inch drive socket set and ratchet.

Birefringent: What can you say about an incandescent light bulb on a piece of wire? - this one is really well made and does its job admirably. Even on the latest cars, nothing works if it doesn't receive power or if it doesn't have a good ground connection, and this tool is a fast and trustworthy way to find out. More often than not, it gives enough information to solve the problem without reaching for more complicated tools. This item is a no-brainer and should be in everyone's arsenal.

Amazon Shopper: This is essential when you fix things yourself. I was able to save myself over $400 in electrical work by testing the fuses myself. The only drawback is that the cord is a little short in my opinion. It's around 4.0 feet long, but an 8-foot cord would be better, for simple maneuverability. However, it was still long enough to reach the fuse panel inside my car.

The tool is lightweight, the bulb is bright even during the day without shade, and the clamp grips tightly too.

Jobany: Bought this to test a vehicle trailer light adapter wire kit. Had to either run a new wire or tap a power wire. In someones infinite wisdom they chose to use two white wires for a 12v adapter in the rear of my vehicle so guessing which was hot and which was ground was pointless.

bought this used the SHARP pointy end to push against the wire and get into the metal. Figured out which one was hot right away. Bulb lit up super bright. I then used it to test the blinkers and brake lights once the trailer light adapter was hooked up to ensure I would have all lights working the first time I hooked it up.

Great little thing, Saved me some time.

Nalon1Nalon1: So far so good. It does what it is supposed to, seems to be a thick cord and clamp is strong. Comes with a little plastic sheath over the probe tip to keep you from stabbing yourself in the toolbox, but I am sure it will be lost quickly, but a nice touch (probably more for packaging than safety).
Light is bright enough to see in direct sunlight.
I wish the cord was a little longer, but nothing that another strip of wire can't fix.

Sorry for the upside down pics, but you can easily see the bulb lit up, even in sunlight.
