Hynes Eagle 40L Flight Approved Carry-on Travel Backpack - Perfect for Short Trips!

CJL: Used this for a Europe trip, also had a checked bag, I prefer to have a back pack suitcase carry on bag so I'm not pulling two wheeled suitcases. Going over to Europe, I packed electronics, books, travel documents, kits and changes of clothes/shoes in case my check bagged didn't make it. It worked great! I like that it opens from the top, unlike a clamshell that has two halves. Outside pockets very handy. Straps worked well and are comfortable to wear. I liked that I could remove the straps and pack them in the zipper compartment so that I could check it on the return trip, like a suitcase. Definitely water resistant. Overall a great design, held up well, no issues or problems. Very happy with this purchase and highly recommend this product.

Brian Charles: Did a 2 week trip to London and pack was perfect. Fits what we needed, no issues packing in overheads and airport had no issues with size.

The three inside bags are a nice touch and quality is really good for the once to twice a year we’ll use it. My wife is 5’2” and 120lbs and this pack was great but also as big as I would go for her.

Heather P.: Thanks to all who have reviewed this pack on Amazon. I chose to buy one (along with 3 packing cubes) for a 2.5 week long spring trip to southern France based on your reviews. I had laundry facilities in many places that I stayed so I need a week or so worth of clothes only. This pack did the job although I used a few more than the 3 packing cubes that came with the pack. In the pack I put: 2 pairs of long light weight travel pants, 5 t-shirts, 2 tank tops, 2 long sleeve t-shirts, 1 long sleeved shirt, 1 yoga jacket, 6 underwear, 6 socks, 2 regular bras, 2 sports bras, 1 pair walking shoes (my hiking boots I wore to travel), a rain coat, a sun hat, toiletries, and a light wind breaker. It all fit just fine. This pack along with a regular small day pack for electronics, a journal, my water bottle etc. and I was set.
The pack is well made and very light weight so you can pack a week or more of clothes and foot wear and still come under the size and weight restrictions for Air France. The longest walk I had with it on my back was perhaps 20 minutes. It is comfortable although the hip belt it just the thin strap kind so if you are backpacking and perhaps staying in hostels that...

Heather G.Heather G.: We bought three of these backpacks a pink a green and a gray. We used these for 21 days through six airports and they were fantastic! All three held up very well we packed literally 21 days worth of clothing toiletries and a secondary pair of footwear in these as well as some small souvenirs did not check them at all. We had no issues with size getting in through the airports however did come up overweight in one slightly for carry-on baggage. They have proven to be durable zippers have held up extremely well as have the buckles. The side cup holder while I need design isn’t functionable as well as we would’ve liked. The cinching straps worked great for holding our secondary jacket so we didn’t have to pack it and could easily access it on planes while avoiding extra carrying! Would highly recommend this product for anyone traveling. As long as you’re not abusing it it has held up extremely well. The padding on the straps it’s pretty good our packs were fairly heavy given we packed for 10 days. Roberta WF: Hoping to take this onto all of our upcoming flights in Europe. Packed for a week (assuming we'll do laundry during our three week trip). The bag holds a lot and feels pretty sturdy while still being lightweight. Pretty comfortable for carrying. European airlines tend to be more limiting about carry-on sizes but we do fit the basic measurements with this bag, so we're hopeful we won't have to check it. For the price, we think this bag was a great purchase.

Mayra Negron: I got these backpack for my daughter to travel and she loves it! It has a nice size to fit her laptop and travel clothing while also fitting under the front seat most of the time ( if it is a small plane with small seats might need to put it on the overhead compartment). The front pocket is great for easy access to her frequently use items (phone charger, headphones, small snack) and the side pocket for a water bottle.

Mark Dal Ponte: Ok, to be fair, I've only used once so far, but thus far, I'm impressed!
Bag seems durable, quality construction and zippers. The inner packing cubes are better than others I've seen, but holding back judgement on those.
Bag holds a lot more than you think. I very easily packed a dress shirt, tee shirt, a couple of casual shirts, shorts, jeans, Birkenstocks, a week worth of underwear, several pairs of socks, my toiletries, lap top, a book, and all my smaller electronics, with plenty of room to spare. Quite confident I can do a two week trip in fall with this bag, as I still had room for a sweater or light jacket, and additional clothes.
I do wish there was a few more pockets for smaller individual items, but easily figured out how to handle that.
Comfortable to wear as a backpack, but equally convenient as a suitcase. Definitely keeping this bag and plan on using it often. Great product for those who know how to pack light, but want room for a few extra items.

sayNOtoMOMjeans: This is a good bag if you're a minimalist traveler or if you are worried about going over your weight limit and want to cut weight somewhere. It's very lighweight. The material felt a bit thin and not premium. I worried that it may not survive multiple trips. The bag was sewn nicely and I liked the connectors for the backpack straps. It was easy to transition the bag between it's two carry modes. The straps were also very comfortable. I took off a star because there isn't much in the way of organization. The front pocket isn't laid out in a way that I found useful. I like a lot of pockets that can hold small stuff. Someone who doesn't have the same need may not care about the lack of pockets. The color was absolutely beautiful. I sent it back due to the lack of organizational pockets. If it offered better organization I would have kept it.

Retired sailor: I searched for a backpack style carry on for months and finally settled on this with the packing cases. I absolutely made the right decision. I was amazed at the amount of clothing I got in there and the additional pouches, compartments and sleeves just made it better. For a two week trip to Europe, in this little gem I packed 2 pairs of trousers, 7 pairs of underwear, 8 pairs of socks, two button up short sleeve shirts, 2 Henley style shirts, 1 sweater, an umbrella, a pair of dress shoes, a flat hat, a rain jacket, my toiletries, tablet, charger, travel documents, a couple of pens - you get the idea. I used the small case for socks and underwear, the medium for shirts on the way and laundry on the way back. There were no problems with getting this on Air Canada as carry on, it was easy to handle and fit easily in various public transportation conveyances in Europe. It appears well made and durable and is infinitely adaptable to changing needs. Perfect for "checked bag-free" travel!

David W Randall: Our family got four these packs to use for international trip. They served us well.

The size of the bag meets international carry on size requirements (if not overstuffed). Check your airline for your ticket category -- even though there is a "standard", 3 airlines had three requirements that were close to the same, but not exactly the same. This is not a big bag, but we got what we needed into the bag for a 2+ week trip to Europe (and did laundry there)! The ability to skip waiting for your bag and walk right through customs is a huge time-saver!

I was satisfied and pleased with the quality of this. I would recommend this pack.
