My master bath is between 20 and 30 feet from my living room. The signal from the Blue Tooth passes by the HVAC and electric water heater. I have some skips and drops over the headphones while cleaning the master bath. I had hoped that an updated version of Blue Tooth would be more powerful and solve my listening problems. Unfortunately, I still have the occasional drop or skip. But, I will keep and recommend the product because I have fewer skips and drops than before, so I'm satisfied. A major point I want to make is the customer service folks are great. I emailed them twice and their replies were on the same day and very helpful and easy to follow. Great service!!

D M: I got this bluetooth adaptor so I could connect my bluetooth earbuds to my PC. Bonus points if I could connect my phone. Normally I just toss the instructions but they actually came in clutch for this since you have to go to an obscure website and download their driver. So, I followed the instructions, tried to connect my phone (android) with no luck. My PC said it was connected to the phone but my phone refused to connect to the PC. I reached out to their customer service which, while they seem to be nice people, there's a serious delay in response time if you actually need help. They suggested I try connecting another bluetooth device to see if it works. I tried to connect my earbuds and I was able to connect to my PC easily. The only problem was that there was static, A LOT of static.
Earbud static fix:
After some troubleshooting I discovered that there's technically 2 devices for the same device. One is the earbuds with the microphone enabled and the other is just the earbuds with the microphone disabled. The one with the microphone DISABLED removed the static noise and I was left with clear sound. I wasn't able to find this fix online, just took some trial and...

Kindle Customer: OK, I have a 2-year-old desktop that came with bluetooth. No problems pairing devices until Windows updates within the past year, then it wouldn't pair to anything no matter what I tried. My devices paired fine with my Kindle, so it was the computer's problem.
From all the research I've done, it was still unclear whether you could have two bluetooth adapters on the same machine or not. Apparently not. Also whether Microsoft disabled bluetooth or not because of a possible danger of someone hacking in or something. Please read the instructions that came with the dongle! They say you can only have one. I disabled the computer's bluetooth per the instructions, downloaded the driver/installer (the link is listed in the instructions), made sure I performed every step and tried to match what was on the instructions' pictures as closely as possible (I'm currently running Windows 11 DEV preview, so some things a bit different than the pictures) and waited for the device to show up (took a bit longer than I thought to appear). Once it did, I tested pairing several different bluetooth devices and they all connected perfectly. I noticed that I lost connection to Windows' Your Phone...

Col J.: Turns out, Bluetooth 5.3 isn't as lag-free as they're advertised and I don't believe that's so because this particular dongle is cheap. I own 2 Bluetooth 4.0 dongles (one expensive and one cheap) and they both perform about the same. 4.0 dongles have very noticeable lag when paired with other 4.0 Bluetooth audio devices.
Now, the 5.3 improves on the lag of the 4.0 but you still get 0.2 to 0.3 seconds of lag when watching videos paired with 5.3 earbuds. It's pretty bad but tolerable for the convenience of going wire-free.
Simply, I don't think Bluetooth is quite there yet in terms of wireless audio connected to a PC. Video watching you can deal with the lag, but don't you dare play games with it LOL. For games, you gotta shell out the big bucks for Logitech's Lightspeed technology or other headsets with their respective proprietary dongles.
In conclusion, it's not worth upgrading from the 4.0 if your main need for this dongle is audio. Keep your 4.0 dongle and use the money you saved not buying this dongle to get yourself a set of proper wireless earbuds or a headset.

Eli Farley: I have a few devices that don't have Bluetooth, and this really makes it easier to connect without needing cables. I like my devices to be portable and easy to carry around with me. The design of this product is small and doesn't stick too far out of the device when plugged in. I hardly notice it's even there. You can carry it in your pocket or stick it in your bag to take with you when you leave the house. The connection is reliable and it seems just as fast as having it plugged in with cables. Definitely worth it
