Denise SDenise S: I think it would have been a good product but the bracket holding a key part inside was broken. I heard something rattling when I opened the box. And out falls a screw and some plastic pieces that I think was to actually hold the pin locking mechanism in place. Anyway, disappointed and returning. Pics aren’t real clear with the black colored box but you can see what’s broken and where it “should” have been attached.

A B.: Good product so far. The process to program it is ridiculously long. Entering in long codes just to change and program. I would also prefer an actual lock button instead of having to hold any button down.

Amazon Customer: I am a property owner with many properties. I put these devices on every residential unit I own. When they work, they are great. However, they are not very durable (long-lasting). I have not had any of them last more that 14 months.

TbmTbm: The media could not be loaded.  Box comes with qr code for instructions.
All you need is a screwdriver to install this, I removed my existing dead bolt and this went in the same hole.
The latch can be extended to fit your door.
I find the beep annoying so I muted it.

Also, auto lock feature is disabled from factory. I did activate it, but I wish the timer could be more than 99 seconds.

No complaints so far. Will update review if there are any problems.

Dianne's Design: Easy to install, the only thing that was a disappointment is the indoor part of the electronic lock is black. I expected it to match the outside and the brushed silver door handle.

Joris: I just installed and tested this as a replacement for a normal deadbolt with a key on an exterior door. It was a straightforward install, and assembly, setup and testing were as per the instructions. And btw, the instructions were in large type, clear and accurate. This seems to be excellent value considering the price.

I am an experienced home renovation person. One should be handy to install any door hardware. This is not just with this product-any door hardware needs to be installed accurately. I suspect some of the less than positive reviews are from incorrectly installed units.

Tim: Easy to install, program, and use, as many have said. I installed these on apartment front doors. The problem is that I need more than 2 keys (which come w/the unit) for multiple tenants in each apartment. Here's where it gets interesting. There are no blank keys in the US that match this key. Why? As I learned from my locksmith, all key designs are patented in the US, and blanks (the blank key from which they cut the duplicate key) are suppled by the manufacturers to the various key shops (e.g., Kwikset, Defiant, Schlage, etc.). This is a Chinese-made product, and they didn't or couldn't secure permission to use a particular US manufacturer's key design, so they made their own. However, you can't find blanks that match their design. In the Amazon Questions area, you will find that they claim to use a "KW1" blank (Kwikset), This is false. The KW1 blank is appx 3mm longer than the HuTools key, which means you need to grind the tip off for it to work. The KW1 blank is also just a hair thicker than the HuTools key, so your KW1 duplicate is hard to insert into the lock. I haven't futzed with the KW1 duplicate keys yet to see if I can operate the lock smoothly, but suffice to say, you...

Ashley Simpson: I ordered this in September of 22. It started "beeping" every minute in June of 23. I changed the batteries and did all the troubleshooting that was recommended and still no luck. I then contacted Hutools directly and after them trying to troubleshoot it and no success they sent a replacement. Hopefully it will be good for longer but have to say I am really happy with the customer service provided by Hutools. I am rating it a 4 in hopes that it will last longer than 9 months. I do recommend using lithium batteries like they recommended.
