AJRiso185AJRiso185: Installed HOUA electronic water descaler at home water entry point. Hope it reduces scale buildup in tankless water heater. Was a little difficult to install on the pipes because 90 degree pipe elbows. Wrapped in electrical tape to hold secure on pipes. More suds in shower and seems like less deposits in clear cup. Will really know how good it works when I get my tankless descaled next year.

Amazon Customer: Been a year now so time to review. I decided to try this out instead of a water softener. We bought a house on a well with hard water issues a year ago. The previous owner didn’t do much to combat the scale from the looks of things. So I spent quite a bit of time descaling everything in the house. It was bad! I mean 1/2 inch of scale in some places….. So I installed this. The hard water spots still happen. As this does not remove the deposits from what I understand. But it stops them from binding to surfaces as quickly. So the spots seam to wipe up easily. Also hair felt sticky after a shower when we first moved in and there was a ton of soap needed to get a lather. Not anymore. Was it this? Or the new UV system? Hard to say…..I also noticed a fine powder once on the bottom of a pot on the stove that had dried out. I think it was stuff released from the pipes. Also the dishwasher has way less spotting. So yes I think it helps. But seeing as I did such a good job of descaling to begin with it’s hard to say if it was my hard work or this unit. One spot I have noticed no change is my new shower wands. Debbie W.: We purchased this as our Well Water was alittle hard. Not hard enough that I was willing to purchase an expensive system. Our water has improved. Less water spots everywhere and shampoo foams better when washing hair. Is it as good as I would like ? probably not but yes an improvement. Thinking you might see a bigger difference if your water is harder then mine.

Client d'Amazon: J'étais très septique à propos de ce genre d'appareil. Nous avons une eau dure à la maison sans être très dure. Après quelques semaines, il n'y avait presque plus de dépôt blanchâtre sur les verres dans le lave-vaisselle, les ustensiles sont plus étincelantes, les verres aussi. Lorsqu'on se lave les cheveux, les shampoings moussent mieux. Les savons aussi. Vraiment, cela n'est pas parfait, mais l'appareil en vaut le coûts. Surtout qu'il n'ajoute pas de sel à notre eau.

I took two glasses of water, filled one before installation and one two days after. After two days of sitting, the 1st glass of water drawn before installation had noticeable precipitates of Calcium Carbonate (see picture). The 2nd glass of water drawn two days after installation and two days after sitting, had very little precipitate and no "clumps" of CaCO3 crystals (see other picture). The bottom line: THE PRODUCT SEEMS TO WORK on our 25 GPG well water. If the manufacturer would modify their installation method for wall attachment (see below), I would change the rating to five stars.

The product arrived in less than 24 hours (congrats, Amazon) in an artful and well engineered box. It was so well packaged, with custom foam cushioning, that it was somewhat difficult to remove. Installation required about 30 minutes to wrap the copper bands around the pipe and use the supplied double-sided tape to stick the unit to the wall (Picture 1). As one might expect, double sided tape is inappropriate for concrete walls and yielded in about 8 minutes, allowing the unit to drop and dangle from the connecting wires. I am not sure what kind of walls...
