This is for the 2022 version of the 12c, made in the Philippines. I have several HP calculators, including ones made in the 1970s and 1980s. This one has a design flaw in the keyboard that allows wiggling of the keys to generate multiple key presses. That is, one press of a key may result in multiple entries. I have this problem with a 2010 12c Platinum (China) as well as a 2023 15c Collectors Edition. This is why I'm giving it only four stars. The old hps do not do this.
The calculator is very useful otherwise. It is extremely fast, owing to the old 12c code running in emulation on a somewhat modern ARM processor.

sam: The HP reverse notation calculator has so many helpful timesaving features, that after 35 years, I find that it is difficult to calculate on the simple-no feature ones. The features I love most are the fact that the HP requires fewer keystrokes to calculate the answers. It has shortcut features like the "save" and the "recall" buttons that provide quick access to previous entries. It can amortize compute future values and much more. And crazy enough the new one I just purchased is maybe 1/3 the price that I paid 35 years ago for my first HP 12C.

R. H. McElroy: A superb calculator, in production for 32 years, from 1981. Proficiency with an HP12C has long been treated as demonstrating the operator's financial knowledge and competency with Time Value of Money decisions. The latest model has three versions; this one; the Platinum Edition (choice of ALG or RPN data entry, slightly larger program memory, slightly larger screen numerals) and the 30 Anniversary Limited Edition. The LE comes in its own presentation case and is pleasingly superior in fit and finish to the fine HP12C. On some units made in the CY factory, keys may repeat numbers. For the HP 12C, there are two ways to tell where the calculator was made: by prefix to the serial number, and by the shape of the "%" sign on the % key. Check the serial number and test the keyboard when received: a number of units from the "CY" Chinese factories may have "sticky" keys resulting in duplicate numbers on entry. Those made in the "CN" factory appear not to have this problem. Also. the CN-made calculators have a percent sign that is the same size as images on the other images; the CY-made ones have a taller, narrow % sign. (Some regular HP12C's and all of the 30...

W. E. Weinman:
The 12C is something you don't see every day: A sure thing. Buy a 12C and you'll never want or need another calculator. Ever.
I have two calculators on my desk. An HP 12C that I bought in 1984 and an HP 16C (a programmer's calculator based on the same design as the 12C) that I bought in 1982. I use them both every day. I've replaced the batteries three times in 20 years. (Yeah, you read that right: three times.) These calculators are rugged, reliable, and easy-to-use.
Last year I bought my wife a 12C. She had never used an RPN calculator before and it felt "foreign" to her at first. That lasted about an hour. Now she hates to use another calculator. Sure, it's a little bit of a learning curve (not much really), but once you learn it you'll find that it's more natural and far easier to use than an algebraic calculator.
According to Moore's Law computers double in speed and half in size every 18 months, yet a calculator first released in 1982 continues to out-perform everything that has tried to replace it? How is that possible? Elegant design. As an engineer I continue to be impressed by the simple elegance of a design that has held up so well to the test...
