Honeywell Fireproof and Waterproof Safe Box Chest with Convenient Carry Handle

Mary: Purchased this safe to hold my important documents and hard drives. The waterproof/fireproof aspects haven’t been tested for me yet (and hopefully never will), but this lockbox seems really sturdy. It’s very heavy and the locking mechanisms seem durable. Only complaint is that you can’t lay a full piece of normal-sized paper flat inside.

I am sure some of you are here due to Tik Tok. I personally wanted this product to store my valuable documents such as passports, IDs, birth certificate, cash reserve, etc in case a fire burned down my house. This should do pretty well for that I believe (especially for the price, will be a lot better than not having one).

That said, I have a couple gripes:
1. The latches on the front are plastic. This is somewhat of a pain just because won't that plastic melt? I am not positive, but may be a wrinkle in the anti-fire plan. That said, the box is very heavy and can likely stay closed on its own I think? There is a pretty strong seal tool.
2. I think the latches to secure it closed are a little finicky when it comes to the mechanism, but at least it does seem like a very solid shut, so perhaps it is a necessity.
3. This is a personal one, but I wish it were a little more boxy and maybe easier to integrate with my current storage.

Some nice features:
1. The weight is really nice, it feels strong.
2. The inside has a very nice lining, this along with the seal makes me feel good about my documents being inside.

Shantastic: This is a very heavy, sturdy lock box. I was actually quite surprised at the box's durability and weight. Thank god this was a Prime item because it probably would cost $100 to ship it.

I bought the box mainly for fire protection to store important documents. This box will certainly do the job. It has a one hour fire rating which is better than almost any other security chest available on Amazon. The hinges seal the box tightly and the lock is sturdy. The inside of the box is larger than it appears in the listing photos. Legal documents will easily fit inside. In addition to fire safety, this box is also waterproof and they claim it will even float as long as it is locked. So, this is an all around great item to protect documents.

Note that this chest is bigger than you would think and it Is HEAVY! I was shocked at its weight so if you cannot lift 60 or 70 lbs. you will have a problem moving this box around. But, they did add a very sturdy handle to the front of the box and it can be carried like a very heavy briefcase.

One other point is that you need to understand what this chest is. It is not a safe. It cannot be bolted to the floor or wall. However, I...
