Riley and Rachelle: Improved my sons catching abilities, (went from rf to 2nd base) too light weight to hook up the ball feeder, but just feeding the balls through manually, you can still get a good workout in. Easily reaches the outfield and the bases with the right adjustments. Would recommend for the lil league fella trying to get better.

jtc: After initial assembly the machine would barely project a ball. Called service, who was very responsive, and he guided us through adjusting a very small screw on back of motor. This resulted in only the ? Highest speed for a bit then unit quit working. He said wires to speed control were soldered backwards. He sent us a new circuit board and rheostat which I INSTALLED and now it seems to be working as it should. Time will tell

USMC: So I have had this for several weeks. I have used it with a battery pack, outlet and a generator for power. All have the same issue with providing a consistent pitch. The wheel to launch the balls takes around 7 seconds between pitches so the wheel can get up to speed after a pitch. The first 2 are always way to high. Sometimes the pitches start falling short after 5 or so. I found it better to self feed around 8-9 seconds between balls.
The stand is also rather loose. It has way to much play in all directions. This results in wild pitches sometimes. We had 3 kids hit because of this problem. I will fix this issue and check reliability later on.
The machine will work with baseballs and the softer T balls. However, as stated in the description, they are less accurate. I suggest using the balls that are best suited for the machine.
Customer service isn't bad. I called the number concerning the speed. They had me talk with an engineer and we fixed the issue. They were nice and very helpful. Most important, they were humans :)
So end result, not too bad for the cast if you are willing to work through the issues I listed.

Paul B: I have read several reviews that this machine shakes violently and even one review where the lady said it hit her kid in the head. To the reviews of shakes violently. People need to have a simple comprehension of how things are put together and read instructions. It says clearly to tighten all bolts and put the front of the pitching machine towards the longest third tripod leg, this will stop it from "shaking violently". As for the lady that said it hit her kid in the head, here's a pro tip. Don't be sucking down Busch lights and put the thing two feet away from your kid and aim it directly at his head.

It's a great machine for the money, yes it does chew up real baseballs which isn't a big deal to me. Long story short, if you can add 2 plus 2 and love your child. You can
put this machine together properly and it won't hit your kid in the head.

Chris Sullivan: I have used it twice now for BP with my team of 9 and 10 year olds. I used real balls and really like its performance. Every pitch is not a strike and that's good as I want the kids to track the ball for pitches they should swing at. I do wish I would of ordered the 1/4 hp unit because I do have to wait a few seconds for it to get back to speed. It does help your player build confidence and timing.
