DGK: Sadly the new spout design is not as good as the teakettle spout. Pouring coffee is slow due to the basket being so close to the spout after the coffee is made. I have to take the basket out - while this solves the issue I shouldn't have to do this.

Veronica Lakewood: OK so I can totally taste the effects of plastic in my coffee. I literally hate Mr. coffee because I can taste the remains of plastic from the basket that’s part of that device. I don’t care how good you make this device, Mr. it literally is not good for people who love coffee. So years ago I got really good coffee from truckstop, and I asked how they made the coffee and they advised that they use a percolator not an electric percolator as to what I have, but a percolator, that went on a stove burner naturally years of having these mr coffee units you wanna think based on the advertisement that they’re good, but they’re not, when I went to this unit and made my coffee, it is awesome! Mr. coffee cannot compete with mr percolator get this if you want a good cup of coffee- all metal parts no plastic perfect cuppa coffee every time easy to clean- otherwise you have to use the other thing I bought, which is kind of a filter made out of metal which is good but it’s a pain to make your morning cuppa.

Ellie Mae REllie Mae R: This product is amazing! I like it better than my good old fashioned stovetop Corningware percolator. In fact, I'm buying another one so that we have this same percolator at our cottage too. Easy to use, piping hot coffee, and absolutely delicious coffee! It comes off the base, and is easy to pour. I can't bring myself to purchase a different brand, because this machine is tried & true, and makes exceptionally delicious coffee. If anyone in these reviews had a problem with theirs, they should have returned it right away. Mine is amazing. I use a small stainless steel wire mesh strainer, that I place over my coffee mug, and always pour my coffee through it, to catch any small grinds that might have fallen through the percolator basket.

Michelle Bennett: I bought this particular one for 2 reasons.
1) to replace my old purolator
2) because it's a Hamilton Beach.
It perks fine and does the job. Disappointed that is is not a 2 piece, meaning you don't lift it off a base. You're limited to a short cord. The top does not have a glass handle to see the pot percolating and the handle on the top it does have is rather short and hard to hold on to when trying to remove the lid in order to remove the coffee strainer inside. The top handle gets very hot along with the bottom of the pot. I had to put a cork board under it.
It should be a 2 piece that you can lift off and pour your coffee without restrictions like my previous one.

Roy: Update: After a couple months of use and not getting used to the "cheap" feel of this model and the fact that, unlike previous models, would give coffee a burnt taste straight away, I gave it away and have traded it for a double-sided stainless coffee press which, after using now for eight months, I am 100% happy with. Should have went for one earlier, much easier to clean, saves on coffee grounds, makes perfect coffee, and costs far less (even after added cost of an electric tea kettle to boil water).

I purchased this percolator to replace a Hamilton Beach 40622R that I have owned and fought with for several years, and that one replaced an ancient Hamilton Beach I inherited from my mother that after forty years had finally had enough. The 40622R was beautiful and the stainless steel was nice and thick, as nice as my mother's, and when it perc'ed it made great coffee. The problem with that one was the perc tube not fitting in the bottom correctly and unless I stood there and fiddled with it I wound up with hot water instead of coffee. I did this every morning in a half-awake state for three years until I dropped the lid and broke the glass handle. I was going to replace it...
