It did have a small scratch on the front but since i knew it was used I'll keep it. However it was advertised as no cosmetic damage. As for the percolatir itself it's great. Takes a few pots to dial in your ratios. The 6 cup size is perfect for one or two people. It is stainless steel inside and the parts are stainless steel. I am hoping it works for a good many years.

christopher perry: We bought this to use on our sailboat, it's a perfect size for storage, makes enough coffee to fill two insulated mugs, uses very little power, so it doesn't drain the batteries, and it takes about 5 minutes to brew,

allie e.: I have tried other brands of percolators and this brand delivers the best tasting hot coffee. The "spring" action really is loud but I know that the coffee is truly brewing the way it's supposed to. With other brands you can barely hear it percolating. The coffee comes out tasting" half "brewed.
I gave 4 stars because it only makes about 3 /6 oz cups if that. I wish there was an 8 cup size since the 12 cup is too much. It is also hard to read the inside lines of the pot that tell you how much water to fill. I have a plastic cup that fills exactly to the 6 cup water line so that does make it easier.
I also grind whole coffee beans with a small grinder I found on amazon. I can do it the night before and just store the coffee in the grinder for the next morning and find this does make a difference in the freshness of the coffee.

Amazon Customer: The first few times I made coffee it was a weak tasting and frankly flavorless. I tried experimenting with different size grinds (I have a burr grinder) and it did not seem to make a significant difference (other than more coffee silt making it into my cup).
One trick that DID make a big difference is making sure that my water is really cold when starting. Where I live, we can't get cold or even cool water from the tap, so the only way to make this happen is to dump a handful of ice cubes into the water before adding the basked. This alone extends the brewing time and almost irrespective of the coffee grind size, impacts the coffee strength/flavor - making it taste good. It still isn't quite the same as a classic drip maker, but maybe that's the just burnt plastic not filtering through to the coffee which is the reason I purchased this all-metal percolator. So ... a worthwhile tradeoff. Because it's finicky and the flavor isn't quite the same - I give it 4/5, but not enough to push me back to a drip coffee maker.

The Rev Ari: Recently I was looking for a totally plastic-free way to make more than one cup of coffee at a time. Currently, there are no automatic coffee makers available that fit this stringent requirement. Most plastic-free setups are single-cup pour-over or require stovetop use, and I’ve got those already.
Enter this tiny electric percolator. I already own a couple of larger vintage percolators and use them from time to time to make quantities of coffee when needed. However, some or all of those percolator parts are aluminum. I own a steel stovetop percolator, but for daily use, I wanted something I could fill, turn on, and let do its thing without me having to hover or add water or monitor it.
This is a great percolator for one or two people who might use 12-15-oz to-go mugs. The total amount of water at the “6 cups” level is about 26 ounces after brewing (I know; it’s weird coffee math).
Coffee snobs and people who make profits off of selling more coffee beans for wasteful brewing processes (I am looking at you, cold brew) will tell you that percolated coffee is horrible because the same water perks though the same grounds a few times and the oils aren’t...

Patricia Melanson: Only had this coffee pot a couple of weeks. 85% of the time it makes a great cup of coffee, the other times it comes out like brown water. No idea why it happens, I am using the same grounds, same water, same everything ... Just doesn't want to perculate at times. Not the end of the world, but when it's 5 in the morning and that first cup of coffee comes out looking like dirty water, it has a way of starting the whole day off poorly....

ZimaZima: Years back I purchased the 12 cup percolator, which I really liked but after many years of use the cord snapped. Seeking out an replacement on Amazon I came across the the 6 cup mini percolator AND omgosh it's PERFECT.....sleek looking, perc's great coffee and takes up little storage space. My take away, don't let the size fool you....the performance is right up there with the larger one. Ooooh one more thing, the cord fits the 12 cup percolator, so this purchase was a double win for me. Cheers.

Mary A. Tinkler: This little coffee pot has a lid that is very difficult to remove for emptying and cleaning. The product comes with a a few paper filters which the user is supposed to fit in the coffee basket and fold over to prevent grounds getting into the coffee. I messed around with the filter for a couple of minutes and finally decided to just use a strainer. There wasn't an issue with grounds getting into the coffee so I don't know why they included the filters. The little pot makes very good coffee. I gave it 4 stars due to the struggle with the lid. Maybe I'll get better at it as time goes by.
