eileen: Very happy with this product. I use medium to coarse ground coffee and do find there is some ground residue after removing the filter, but I think this is normal. Makes great cold brew coffee. Would recommend.

Smartsaver: I was looking for something that can hold more than a few cups of beverage but one that doesn't have a huge footprint in my fridge. This fits the bill. It's tall and sleek and looks expensive (I only paid $19.99 at the time). Operation is simple. Put ground coffee or loose tea into the stainless steel mesh cylinder (which closes at one end with a cap), add cold water, screw the cylinder to the lid before screwing the lid onto the pitcher. Put the pitcher in the fridge and after some time (a few hours to overnight) and the brew is ready. The mesh is fine enough so there is very little coffee sediment at the bottom. Clean up is easy. Just open the cap at the bottom of the cylinder to dispose of the coffee grounds/tea leaves. The beverage is smooth and delicious with no bitter taste. Occasionally I just use it as a pitcher for drinking water. I like it so much that I bought two. My guests have complimented me for serving them delicious drinks with this "fancy" coffee/tea maker.

Adam Jared Apt: This serves its purpose well. It is constructed mostly of glass, which seems robust, and stainless steel, with only a small amount of plastic, so the leaching of harmful chemicals into the tea or coffee should be minimal, if at all. It is advertised mainly for cold brew coffee, with iced tea as an afterthought. I found that gunpowder green tea doesn't work well in this, because the expanded leaves too easily cover up the very fine mesh of the filter. But loose black tea leaves steep just as they should. Only two minor issues: The handle on the top of the lid is only for turning the lid; you can't pick up the assembly by that handle. Also, the plastic collar around the top of the glass cannot be removed for cleaning, leaving the possibility of accumulation of residue between the collar and the glass, though dishwasher cleaning might take care of this.

MainelyDiY: • Glass - thick and good quality but it a bit heavy when full
• Extra large - it is about 8 oz larger than most similar systems
• Easy to clean
• Fine metal mesh filter for durability, has bottom cap to easy removal of used grounds.
I use regular ground coffee and gently twist on cap when brewing to reduce the coffee silt through the filter. If you shake it per instructions you can get a lot of silt. Coarse ground coffee likely would work better.

Misstral: The pitcher makes enough coffee for me for a week, and I am still working out the amounts and brew times. I am puzzled how the fine screen is letting through so many coffee particulates, so I am laying around with a courser ground coffee and playing with the infuser time. Otherwise, the product is well constructed and easy to clean.

chica: I wanted to trade my plastic Pampered Chef pitcher for glass, and I wanted something to use loose tea in. I also make sun tea. This is great. Even when I use tea bags, I don't have to fish them out because they're in the strainer in the center. It has been hit and miss about how much tea to use, but that's OK. This also fits in the door of my fridge, the strainer in the center is very easy to remove and screw in, and the container is very easy to clean. I am the only one in my house who drinks iced tea, and it makes plenty for me. The only complaint is that the pouring hole is small. I would give this as a gift. It's very nice.

Mike & Melodie: This cold brewer is really well made. Solid glass pitcher, sturdy plastic handle and cap. The inner filter is plastic and metal. It works really well. The downside is that the filter basket isn’t large enough to put enough grains in it. A good cold brew should have two parts water to one part grains and brew for 14-18 hours. Because you can’t get as many grains in this one, you have to brew it much longer - over 24 hours. That’s a problem. Cold brew coffee is generally less acidic and bitter than hot brewed coffee but extended the brewing time so much means it ends up tasting a little more tart than other cold brewed coffees. I’ve stopped using the inner filter but have continued using the pitcher because it’s great.

C~CervantesC~Cervantes: The media could not be loaded. The pitcher is tall. The glass is thicker than I expected (which is good). Overall, it felt sturdy. Cold brewing was easy and worth the wait if you are patient. The pitcher holds up to 7 cups. You can add one tablespoon for every cup you make. If you want stronger coffee to take consider adding a few more scoops or double the scoops.
I learned online to bloom the coffee: measure the dry coffee into the infuser, then pour 8-10 oz of hot water over the coffee and wait 30-60 seconds. When you bloom the coffee you help to release the gasses of the coffee (the coffee bubbles) helping to enhance the flavor. Follow the bloom by pouring room temperature or cool water into the pitcher (not into the infuser). Compensate the amount of water you pour with how much it rises when you lower the infuser into the pitcher. Tighten the cap and place it into the refrigerator for at least 12 hours, up to 36 hours. I recommend at least a full 24-hour period, minimum. The coffee will easily stay fresh for a full week.
Shake the pitcher lightly once or twice during the brew time (if you tightened the cap it won't spill). There will be some amount of...
