Della Lecompte: I really appreciate the large print, the easy arrangements and explanations. The illustration, of the chords, at the beginning of each piece is really helpful.

p murphy: The book has 50 country songs - I know about half of them, and I look forward to learning others from Youtube. The chords are mostly [not entirely] easy / straightforward, generally in the keys of C, G or D major. Easch song comes with lyrics, chords, music notation and - really useful - the melody in tablature. so you can play rhythm or "lead" for each song! There are also suggested strum and pick patterns.
If this book were spiral bound I'd defo give it 5 stars. If you like country music and are familiar with the basics, this is probably the one for you. I look forward to Volume 2...

tammie samson: I bought this for my 83 year old father who has no formal guitar training. He said the book is easy to understand and has the fingerings in it for the notes. He has been enjoying it.

marc froment: Alright I must mention that I've also purchased the CMT 100 greatest songs of country music which is published by Hal Leonard just as this book is. There are a few songs in this book that are also in the CMT 100 songs book but that is to be expected when you want to learn great songs. There are enough songs in this book that are solely in it to make it worth while. Also same publishers but this one is more accurate to ''I walk the line'' than the CMT 100 songs book. Awesome book, awesome songs, great addition to your music library!

Randy: This book is not for basic beginners although, it does show all the chords and how they're made. I consider myself a beginner and there are a few songs that I have no problems playing. From cover to cover it is loaded with great country songs. It also shows the picking tabs for each song and I have a lot of fun with those also. I would recommend this book to any guitar player who enjoys the older country classics. As others have previously mentioned, a spiral binding would be a great improvement.
