Henny v.: Het is fijn dat er goede zuignappen bij zijn voor binnen en buiten. Wat iets minder is, er zit toch wel tot 0,8 graad Celsius verschil in. Dat is jammer, maar over all een leuke thermometer voor het geld.

RetiredEE: Honestly, when I look at a product like this being sold for $3 retail (4/$12), I marvel at it. I mean, the darned thing works pretty much as advertised. I bet neither of us can send a letter to China for less than $5, yet someone over there manages to make this thing and SEND it to the USA, for a final retail price of $3. How do they do it? And yet we complain about something like they just bought a Ferrari instead of a cheap $3 thermometer. Perspective, people!
Having said that, the complaints I read about the °C/°F switch are valid. It's awful. You can tell that it's not a real switch. It's just a piece of plastic with some metal on its bottom sliding over a printed circuit board, while making very poor contact. The temperature reading bounces back and forth between the two readings, seemingly preferring the °C setting. You can lightly tap the thermometer and the reading bounces between F and C. It's bad.
Next, all of the thermometers arrive fully powered. The batteries have been in place for as long as the thermometers were shipped from China. How much does this reduce the total battery life? I dunno, but it seems wasteful for the customer. In fairness, I bet...

M. T: HAD ONE FOR OVER A YEAR WORKS GOOD BUT EVENTUALLY GOT A COUPLE DROPS OF WATER ON IT IT WENT INSIDE AND CAUSED THE BATTERY TO CORRODE AND STOPPED WORKING. I WOULD RECOMMEND.
