Miss Howe: I bought this book to read to my four-year-old son and to read to my first grade class. It wasn't fast-passed enough for my four-year-old, but my first graders really enjoyed it. Wendy Pfeffer is a fine writer who does a great job of telling the story of a seed turning into a pumpkin. This book is factual, but offers a lighthearted manner in which to teach children a science lesson for the day, My students liked this book so well that they didn't even realize they were actually learning new things about pumpkins.
