TruthTeller: This is the 2nd one I've gotten after my first one got a little whacky after about 4 years. I have ill cats and for weighing them, nothing beats this. The holder allows the cat to sit in the scale, and the HOLD button allows them to squirm and then gets a reading. I have tested this and always very accurate.

After my first one gave in, I went and bought at least 4 different scales, cheaper, more expensive, "bestsellers" - none of them gave me what this gave me. Sticking with this one as long as I have cats. It's the best - but yes, get a 9V battery since they are not very common and they don't include one - avoid the frustration.

Again - for a cat (i have 2 elderly cats) this has been great.

NicoleNicole: Crazy cat mom & also a veterinarian. Bought this scale many years ago (2014) after one of my own kitties became diabetic and I had to closely track his weight at home (wish I had been tracking sooner!) Almost 10 years later it's still holding up great. It takes a 9v battery and I only remember changing it once this whole time, though it may have been twice. Scale was accurate compared to the scales at work and actually more stable. My boys love hanging out in it and it doesn't tip even when they sit on the overhang. It has a removable "bed" that locks to the base (little twist lock in the center) to secure them together so it's easy to pick up and move all together compared to the ones that just sit on top. And for squirmy pets (or kids I imagine) it has a "hold" function which will lock in the average weight if they won't sit still long enough to get a good reading. It can be helpful to smear a small bit of their favorite soft food or treat on one end to get them to sit still also.

Honey Toast : Helped us out for weighing our little man to make sure he was gaining in the first few months. It’s not SUPER accurate if you’re trying to measure how much they’re drinking milkwise but it’s a pretty good guideline.

PSz: We bought this scale to help monitor baby's growth at home. Overall, we are very happy with the purchase. We use it at least once a week to keep an eye on how much weight our little one is gaining. While I love the zero-out feature to allow you to put a blanket underneath baby for comfort while still getting an accurate reading, I do not find the "hold" function to be of any use. Each time we've used the hold function the measurement is unreliable, varying by up to 6 ounces within a 2 minute window. This is not a deal breaker though, as I'm more than happy to just keep an eye on the reading while LO squirms a bit, this is a better way to get an accurate reading in my opinion. Using that technique, this scale has always been within 1 ounce of what the scale at the doctor's office is reading, so I trust the accuracy. We had a little bit of a challenge with weight gain initially, so this scale has been very helpful for weekly checks as opposed to having to drive to the doctors office. For anyone who may be looking for a scale with the intention of doing weighted feedings, this is probably not going to be a great choice, as it only measure up to half ounces. Lagomorphia: I've had this scale for only a couple of months, but so far so good. My last scale started to go bonkers just before the one-year warranty expired (fortunately), which is one reason I'm giving it only four stars: I don't want my review to be premature. The second reason is that it's not quite an exact match to my vet's scale, but I'm willing to accept the possibility that his scale is off. So far it's been off by only 0.02 to 0.03 kg, which is pretty good. Otherwise, it's working well and the numbers are easy to read. It's great for small animals, although they can easily jump off it. For safety reasons, keep it low to the ground. If you have an ailing pet whose weight you need to monitor, I feel comfortable recommending this scale.
