life-long learner: We had concrete work done and needed some repair to the lawn. Put down some Scott’s Premium Topsoil, sprinkled on the seed, and watered daily. New grass began growing quickly, and is filling in nicely. I didn’t need to cover it with straw or anything, just watered daily. So pleased with the results!

theburge: This seed takes a long time to germinate. This is the natural growth duration for this seed. If planting in the spring it will take a longer time than in the fall due to a cooler soil temperature. Also if planting in the spring/summer make sure you do not pretreat your lawn with a weed and feed as this will prevent the new grass from germinating. It’s also important to mulch over the new seed with pure straw that doesn’t contain weed seeds. Great seed and product used properly. If you want a quick fix fast growing lawn purchase a fescue seed. The disadvantages with fescue is that it grows in clumps where KBG will eventually grow into a weblike woven sod creating a thick lawn. Patience is key with establishing and overseeing with KBG.

Sandy OOP: I order this product every year as I have a very large lawn that I want to make thick. Sometime it takes and sometimes it doesn't as there seems to be tiny weeds instead of grass. BUT, I keep trying. I like the grass color. I could not resist the Big Friday deal on this grass seed, therefore giving it 5 stars. Anyway, I had to patch up the bare spots where I had sprinkled Scott's Turf Builder Weed & Feed (killed my grass - contacted them about it: they never responded!).

Hanh PhamHanh Pham: I had some trouble with my lawn. I started with just soil and dirt and tried Scott’s northeastern seeds that did not work so well but I got a refund from Scott’s . I used the funds and bought Kentucky seeds. I through some seeds on my dirt lawn on 09/28 . It seem to have 80-90% sprouted after a particularly rainy week 2 weeks afterwards. Now in October it starting to fill in . The first photo 10/21 shows the lawn with lots of bare spots ( there’s sprouts but just low). One week later and it has filled out much better. Current temp 40-65 F. I would buy again , it’s just pretty expensive

Lena: Used it to seed a new small size cold season lawn. I am a seasoned gardener and have green thumbs. Practically none of the seeds germinated. Maybe 1-2 % germinated but they too were very weak to begin with. Scotts seeds used to be good but this pack was terrible. All the money wasted.
