George Jetson: Not sure I agree with some of the negative comments. Received my mower in two days from Amazon. Box was banged up, but mower is in great shape.

The mower is easy to assemble if you have any mechanical inclination. Starting the mowere threw me a curve, since you need to depress a safety button (and release it) while holding the throttle lever.

Speaking of power, power is adequate for thin and medium grass. I would not call the mower under powered. Reminds me of the old Honda gas mowers when they first came out, sleek and compact.

I was so impressed with the mower I mowed the lawn in the dark this evening. With the self propelled function, yes it goes thru the battery faster, but heres the key: IT MOWES FASTER THAN A GAS POWERED MOWER twice its size.

This self propelled mower has a throttle lever for slow or fast speed. It can barrel up a hill in a way larger gas power mowers, even with an SP function, could not.

This mower knocked out the back lawn in twenty minutes. It would have taken a 6 hp gas mower 45 minutes.

Who cares if the battery life is twenty minutes when you are covering twice as much ground in the same itme.

Bev Rogers White: It was packed very well and for this 68 yr old woman, so easy to assemble and use. Charging the batteries was fast, which I appreciate! I mowed just a little of my lawn to get a feel for the way it operates and it is a DREAM machine.

I bought the bundle because I have a large yard with lots of trees and having everything using the same type battery simplifies life.

I'm very happy I bought this.

Ronald Napierkowski: I have around 3/8 acre so I bought the extra battery. I used self propelled feature to cut 1/2 of my front lawn but switched to just pushing it after checking battery. Battery just finished front lawn before dying. Second battery cut almost 3/4 of backyard before dying and had to finish with gas mower. Guess I have to buy it least two more batteries to be able to use self propelled. Had I know this, I would not have purchased.

EDIT: The first time I used this my grass was high as I was waiting on this mower to arrive so I had to bag. Now that I am back to mulching and cutting every three days, two batteries are enough. But if you bag and let your lawn get somewhat high, stick with a gas mower.

Tony: I had been using a name brand self-propelled, mulching gas mower and was getting sick of dealing with gas, oil, air filters, expensive tuneups, noise, and vibrations. This battery powered mower has relieved all of that and it is far easier to adjust the blade height. It is also far easier to clean the underside since you do not have to worry about gas and oil leaking out.

However, it does take some getting used to. It does not seem to have as much power and the battery only lasted 30 minutes while mulching. You have to let an expired battery cool down, and it takes a while for it to recharge. It does not look great when your lawn is only half done.So, I invested
another$120 in a second battery.

The main problem though is the self-propelled feature. Every time you make a turn, you have to release the handle to disengage the self propulsion. Otherwise, it will run away with you. You cannot pivot on the back wheels. It is OK going straight, but it is definitely not OK when working around small spaces. It is nice being able to adjust the speed but that also does not work smoothly. I find myself frequently not using the self-propelled feature and the mower is not...

Satisfied Customer: It was easy to assemble and well packed. The flap on the back makes pulling it backwards a pain, but many suffer from this. I suppose a more flexible one wouldn't hold up as well. It cuts very even, the yard looks nice. It is a 21 inch cut, equal to most gasoline mowers. But...

Don't expect 40 minutes on a battery, especially if you are using the self-propelled feature. Even being judicious in using it, I found that 30 minutes was about the limit. Actually, that's not completely accurate. At around thirty minutes it starts to lose power and shows just one bar on the battery. I'm still able to let it climb back up the hill and still has juice left over, and I haven't run it until cutoff. If you don't mind taking a break every so often while the battery charges, no problem.

I'm not sure why, but the cost of a second (spare) battery is astronomical -- beyond $175 on Amazon. And, there's no special bundle deal when you buy the mower. The battery is nothing special, it's just a proprietary plug-in. So, if you plan on mowing a 100 x 100 ft or more of yard, you'll want to consider the cost of a second battery or plan to take a break while it charges (which takes about an...
