CD: My son mountains bike some extremely disturbing trails (from a Dad's perspective, anything less that a bike lane is problematic) and this camera is the very best on the market today. It's stabilization, without a gimble is incredible. Wow.

K. Pacheco: My wife and I purchased this camera just a few days prior to a motorcycle trip to the Black Hills so as to capture our trip on film. Probably would have been better to get it much sooner to learn more about the camera and all its functions. But, out of the box we were able to set it up for what we wanted and were able to take some really great footage of our trip.
Pros: Great video, high resolution and lots of options
Comes set up with a few preset video and camera settings that worked well.
Awesome video stablization
Cons: I would expect better battery life as we only got about 45 minutes per battery. Luckily we had purchased a
spare.
Camera gets pretty hot during extended use. Thought that was an issue but after reading several online reviews and articles I see where it is normal for the camera.
Microphones pick up the slightest wind noise so unless you are going to over dub sound, its best to get a wind cover to get rid of the annoying wind noise
Now that we have had it for a few weeks we have learned more about the many features it has and have tweaked the settings to give us more battery life and make it easier to use.

Seppster58: I have been buying GoPros for many years. This one seems to be next step up for ease of use and more features. If you want full details on this, just go on YouTube and search for reviews. My review in a nut shell will be simple.
What I like about it is you get great stabilization without a gimbal. Seems to be very good. Get more choices of resolution and speeds with this camera. The menu is easy to use and the choice of preset profiles is great for those shots you need in different settings.
The only problem I have with this is the battery life. I get about an hour out of each battery. When going on a long bike ride, I have to swap out batteries.
Because the housing is different now, I can’t use the GoPro Karma Grip. I know the camera has great built in stabilization but the grip came with built in power packs which extended the recording range significantly. I am using my Hero 7 for this long walks now.
In summary, the GoPro 8 is my go to camera now for general shooting. Any long duration stuff, I will go with the Hero 7 on my Karma Grip.

Fuzzy Bruce: Quite rugged, this small camera has lots of needed features. The battery life is a little lacking but the camera will function with an external power source for those long slow-motion and time-lapse shots. Also, lens and screen covers are needed but not supplied. One of the best features for me is the ability to pair the camera to my smartphone with the free app available from GoPro. The phone can remotely control all settings and functions, including start/stop recording, firmware updates, and shutting down the camera.

DarkStoneCastle: Well, they fixed my main gripe I had with the Hero 7 black. Now the screen doesn't dim down to 10% after 60 seconds of continuously filming making it impossible to see the screen outside in the sun. The video quality and stabilization have improved a little bit. Colors are slightly more earthy and warmer. That stabilization just keeps getting better and better. Can't wait for the day when you can walk with the camera (not run, but just walk) and it looks like you have it on a dolly track. I like how you don't have to put the camera in a case anymore to mount it. Those new feet that pop out are an improvement. Although, I still would much prefer a 1/4 tripod hole. I don't mind that the lens is a fixed piece of glass, although that seems to bother a lot of people. My only complaints would be 1) you still can't take a picture in 16x9 format. WTF????????? The door to get to the battery is harder to open than on the 7. The screen on the back is just too small. I wish the whole camera was like 1/2 inch bigger to allow for a bigger screen. Or keep it the same size and make the font bigger. Trying to cut the camera on or off can sometimes be ridiculously frustrating because of the water...

Scott A: This is my first GoPro and I am super-impressed with the quality available in such an easy to use and rugged little tiny camera. It is just so "pocketable" it is insane how you can just pop it in a pocket and pull it out anywhere and anytime and suddenly start capturing super smooth hi-rez video with decent sound quality in seconds. Actually better than decent sound quality, everything except maybe hurricane-level winds sound awesome with very low/none wind noise at all. I did invest in some accessory mounts and can easily attach it to my mountainbike, electric scooter, helmet, or even chest mount or simply hold it in the hand while riding my Ranger X2 eskateboard and capture near-pro level footage in moments. Great action cam!

EmanuelEmanuel: The media could not be loaded. This new GoPro 8 is spectacular! I'm coming from an Osmo Action and a hero 7 black. I will compare them to both of my previous camera. it takes great, with no more ghosting like the 7, love that! Only thing is I can't tell the difference the HRD and Super HRD photos yet. The stabilization is better than the Hero 7 and the Osmo Action. Makes the footage look so smooth and cinematic. I went to Times Square today and was shooting in 4k at 6fps and it never froze. I was shooting for a good 14 minutes straight! Yes, it might get a bit hot but as long as it doesn't freeze I'm happy. the Osmo Action never froze on me but the FOV was set to linear and I prefer wide most times. Yes, the video looks noisy indoors or if it's dark but people this camera has an F-Stop of 2.8, not 1.8, so what did you expect? It's made for action, not night time shooting. There is a night lapse mode and I'm still trying to understand how that works. Oh and I also got 100 dollars off with this purchase by opening an Amazon card, so it's a win/win!
Overall very pleased with this camera! yes, it can be better but right now this is the best Action camera there...
