Darin: We have used these only a couple of times, but seem to be good quality and easy to adjust. It was easy to swap out the tip covers/baskets (although the baskets seemed a little small) and seemed to work well. No trouble adjusting the wrist straps or length of the poles - you just have to ensure that the right amount of tension is present with the flip-locks. Overall quite light weight and collapse down to a good, packable size. The price was definitely right and I would buy them again and recommend them to a friend

Desert Gal53: UPDATE: These are awesome! They help me to walk better, to be more upright so I can walk faster as well. I can go further, I've been able to double how far I go on my walks each day. They are sturdy. They also help me with balance... I don't have to worry so much about possibly loosing my balance, this helps me to walk a bit faster, thus more calories burned and better fitness for me! I keep thinking to myself, "how on earth did I ever walk without them!!" A friend of mine told me her husband was told to use "walking poles" after his spinal surgery, said they actually helped much better than a walker.
If someone stole my "sticks" I would order a new pair immediately! LOVE THESE.

I just got them. We adjusted them easily. So far so good. I love the color (pink) and they feel really sturdy. They are comfortable to hold and light weight so they don't weigh my arms down. I love that they come with several "feet" that can be changed depending on the type of surface one is walking on. I will update when I've been using them for a while.

On the way down, my arthritic, painful knees slowed me to a crawl. At each step, I felt they were going to give way. I decided it was time to invest in some poles for support. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money but wanted a good set. I chose the Gold Armour Trekking Poles, in Scarlet Red for visibility, based on the mostly positive reviews.

The poles are very light weight. They do flex a little under my full weight but don’t get close to failing when used for bodily support during a walk. Sure, you will buckle them if you pull them across your knee! If you are into some arduous mountainside climbing these might not be strong enough though.

The Flip Locks are just like those on my camera tripod. Open them, adjust for length, and press closed, when the levers toggle into a locked leg-clamping position. Initially, the poles slid with my 228 lb weight on them, leaning 25 degrees or so forward, as a test. However, that was easily fixed. Open the Flip Lock and the knurl-headed fastener is now loose and can be adjusted very easily with your fingers. Tighten that...

Para personas con sobrepeso (técnicamente obesidad), como yo, caminar puede ser duro para las rodillas y tobillos, y doloroso. Estos bastones ayudan a distribuir el peso en 4 (usando los brazos y las piernas), y esa ayuda extra disminuye el peso que cargan las rodillas y los tobillos. (Por supuesto que cada caso puede ser diferente, yo sólo te comparto mi experiencia.)

Sin los bastones, yo me tenía que detener más o menos cada 200 metros para descansar y para relajar las piernas, pues a veces me dolían. Y claro, después de la caminata, me dolían las rodillas, los tobillos, a veces incluso la cadera. Con los bastones, he podido recorrer más de 1 kilómetro sin detenerme, y sin dolor. Lo que me pasa con los bastones es que sigo de corrido, agarro ritmo y paso, y puedo seguir. Hawklan: Got my Trekking poles tonight. Did lots of research and finally decided on the Gold Armour and boy I was not wrong. The poles are light, they are very great looking. Excellent height! I'm gonna use them as Tarp supports too. I absolutely love em. Bought other stuff from the same company. Got the 12' Tarp, the telescopic poles for tarp support. I'm gonna be getting more stuff. Love it.
