Suzanne: These are as I thought they’d be, dry and crumbly when eating. Gluten free I knew they wouldn’t be great. I keep in refrigerator so put in toaster and take chill off and brown just a little. Peanut butter is good on them. I had for lunch. I’ve eaten a whole one but half is enough cause flavor is lacking. So I’ve only eaten one and a half so far. I’ll try with cream cheese I guess. If you really want a bagel and have to be gluten free they pass but regular bagels they aren’t.

J. Collins: I fixed these toasted with cream cheese and everything but the bagel seasoning sprinkled on top and they’re ok. There are fresh bagels from Odd Bagel or Modern Bread and Bagel to die for, but in between shipments, these will do in a pinch. Especially if you have everything but the bagel seasoning or a good blueberry schmear.

DrK: These are absolutely among the top 5 (if not higher) yummiest gluten-free (g-f) bagels I’ve ever tasted. They are soft, light, fluffy, appropriately moist, and chewy. These have none of that dry, crumbly dense, bready taste/texture characteristic of most g-f bread products. There’s no weird taste. It tastes just like regular bagels.
These g-f bagels toast up nicely, so the awesome taste and texture are just enhanced.
What’s the hitch? Unfortunately, it’s primarily made of starch, which means it’s VERY high carb. The carb value is too high for anyone. Thus, I eat a half bagel, which is still VERY high carb. Can’t they add fiber to balance the carb effects without sacrificing texture and taste?
I really would love to keep this as a weekly buy, but it’s just not healthy. That’s a sad shame too bc they are really good.
