Patrick Faulkner: My son signed up for band and needed a flute. This was a great price for a beginner flute. Since I played, back in the day, I gave it a try and the sound quality was perfect! He got a lot of compliments for it being a unique color and style. He's having a great first year in middle school and this was just sprinkles.

Subzero: I ordered mine sea blue. I own other flutes but wanted to check out value for the money and I’m nicely surprised. Sea blue looks gorgeous and plays well. I had no problems when package arrived. Opened and startEd to play and my sound was getting better and better that what usually happens during practice session. So if you order it just let it play and if you wanna judge it then do it on the end of the session. Def recommend for a beginner . Children love colors so the best to order for them the color they like and that can inspire them to play and practice. When I was learning the flute I noticed that some fingerings are very tough on the beginning and flute can be accidentally dropped. So better to drop 80 dollar flute than 1000+ dollar flute. Of course better not to drop it at all but sometimes that may happen. Just saying. Love the small screwdriver included and extras. I recommend to put a bit of grease which is included especially on sliding foot spot you will be glad you did when disassembling it on the end of session.The head joint fits lighter on mine than foot so pay attention to that when assembling first time. melissa kempf: I played flute in high school.My school flute has seen better days and I was looking for something to help me get back into playing and I didn't want to spend a ton of money.Took a chance on this based on the other reviews and am really pleased.This flute came carefully packaged with it's own case and cleaning cloth.A tuning wand ,white gloves,cork grease,mini screwdriver along with an extra strap for the case.I chose the purple and it's a beautiful rich color.It plays very well and the high register is clean and smooth. Very happy with this purchase! Update::::I've been playing this flute pretty regularly since I received it and the paint has started to peel off! It's a good starter flute for a beginner, but I will need to upgrade to a better quality soon.It served it's purpose in that it got me to actually practice. This flute has a nice sound, but some higher octave notes are a bit screechy.
