DTodd: I needed a cheap beater guitar that could be made functional, and I'm a lefty, so my options were limited. The action's high, the frets are rough, and the strings are horrible, with a shrill tone that caused me to dial back the trebel. The practice amp is pretty dreadful, but its compact and functional for noodling around in the basement. As far as cosmetics, its a typical cheap run-of-the-mill strat lookalike, but the finish is pretty decent. However, there is a ding in the rear of the guitar body that was painted over at the factory. It doesnt really bother me much because its not visible when playing, and again, I was looking for a workhorse beater.

Now, you may be asking yourself: 'If you found so many nitpicks, why the solid four star rating?' Because its an electric guitar with a practice amp for a sawbuck and a half, and I wasnt expecting anything at that price to rival my PRS or Gibson. - Its the guitar I was expecting at that pricepoint. This guitar would be great for a beginner with a little setup. - Ditch the strings, oil the fretboard, and sand the frets, and this is pretty playable. Just dont expect too much, and you'll be very pleased.

This guitar is absolutely beautiful (the green finish one... woot). The guitar comes like all other guitars; it needs to be 'set-up' and attuned. Unless you pay a music store to do it for you when buying a guitar (often built into the price tag), all guitars need different levels of set-up; regardless of their cost. Watch a few videos on the subject if you don't already know, and you will see what I mean. I have not set this one up yet, but I have tested it out 'as-is' straight out of the box. It was quite impressive without any work, but it was clear that it needed a full set-up.

It is light-weight but sturdy; thanks to the basswood body and finish. The neck seems to be white maple which makes it lighter as well.

I have all the equipment I need to set this guitar up and start using it, including a few items which were not part of the package. It still has only set me back by about 130 or so in total (July 2023, wait for the real inflation to kick in...). That is okay though, as the guitar has already proven itself to be a capable instrument.

Brad G: I just received my Glarry guitar and amp package for beginners. I do have to say I am impressed. The guitar has a nice feel to it, I am getting ready to take up lessons so I can learn how to play. I do however have to say that I did notice that the guitar is out of tune and the strings are loose a bit but that's fixable. I am not a professional by no means but it is just a minor thing, but overall I am pleased with what I have seen. I am now gonna work towards get the bass guitar and amp package that I have picked out also from Glarry instruments. I will post another review later down the road.

Shay: I have just received the guitar. Its beautiful, it looks great aside from some minor damage. I have not tried playing yet, but that is because I am in the process of changing the strings (In my experience, the strings that instrument kits get sent with aren’t the best, so I bought some D’Addarios). The thicker strings (E A D) came out so easily, I thought it would be a breeze. But I got to G B E and they aren’t coming out. After a look into the guitar, I realized the ends (the circular parts at the end of the strings) were turned a little, therefore making it stuck.

Edit: I've since figured out the solution. I would also like to add that this is a very affordable guitar with a cheap amp. From what I've heard, you can make even the cheapest guitars sound great with a good amp. The amp that came with this kit hums if you're not playing. It's a good deal altogether, and the amp is mediocre and I can deal with that, but because of its mediocrity, you get tired/annoyed of it quickly. So if you want this beautiful guitar, I suggest you get a good amp to go with it.
One more thing to add, at first I thought the pick guard was scratched up and damaged (though this is not...
