Like the fact it has a built in low & high alarm in case heater fails and lets you know before the fish get cooked or too cold

Chris Hardwick: I have about two dozen of these, nothing on the market compares at this price. You'll find some cheaper but there's one big problem with all of the other ones out there - they only alarm once and that's it. This one keeps beeping until you turn it off. I ordered six of these that were a different brand and to my shock they would only beep ten times in about three seconds and then the alarm would stop. And only the LED would flash after that, utterly useless. If you read the reviews on other brands many people have lost a whole freezer full of meat or had their aquariums cook while their 'alarm' was completely silent and only the LED was flashing. I also find these very accurate, within a degree of other probes. And the batteries on these last years. The only thing that is a bit tricky is setting the high and low temps in the settings for the alarm, you have to use the C/F button on the back, I had to search out the owners manual to figure it out LOL. And the degrees F are a bit wonky, it's designed to go up and down in C. For example, if you adjust the low temp alarm in C it will go from 1 to 2 to 3, but if you do the same in F it will go from 33.8 to 35.6 to 37.4. Not a big deal,...

Claudine & AndréClaudine & André: Worked good for 1 year ans 10 month and was happy with the thermometer. Bur after that time suddenly it started to show random temperatures -27° , 5°...12°... The probe wire section who was into the aquarium water is now hard and not flexible anymore and moving and touching the probe wire make changing randomly the shown temperature. Useless now to monitor my aquarium temperature.

Kenny: Awesome!
I've had it for about a month and this is an honest review....I didn't receive anything for this review.
PROs:
Accurate to within 1 degree, (maybe 1.3°) ..I verified with some HVAC meters I use and trust.
It updates about every 15 or 20 seconds.
Its easy to program has selectable F and C .
Its large enough to read with 1" digits, the unit is 3"x2"
The alarm is loud enough but not ear shattering.
Comes with velcro for the module and a suction cup for the probe to stick to glass. FYI it hasn't come off on its own. ...its very secure.
The probe has a long cable, you could mount this a few feet away!
Comes with an extra battery
CONs:
Kinda easy to see at night, it has a button for back lighting, but its a momentary button. ..the light is on, only on when pressed.
It has to be programed BEFORE installing or sticking it down.
There is a button on the back to access settings. No biggy!
ITS WATER PROOF!
NO ITS NOT.
I accidentally dropped it into the tank!
It displayed garbage digits, the buttons didn't work and I thought it was toast after owning it for 25 minutes!
I pulled the battery and left it near a fan...

CP: Within a week of putting this in my saltwater tank... the alarm went off alerting me that my temperature had jumped above the 82 (I set the "max" to be 82 degrees for the alarm) You set the min and max yourself and if temp drops or increases beyond what you have set then the alarm beeps and it is quite loud. The alarm will keep sounding intermittently until you reset. I have had 2 heaters fail in past resulting in fish death so I spent big dollars on a new heater several months ago but it failed too. Salt water causes heater dials to accumulate salt when condensing water. Once again, my heater was faulty and wouldn't shut off so this alarm saved literally thousands and thousands of dollars worth of saltwater fish and corals. The temp reading is within a degree of the temp reading that my TDS meter reads so its fairly accurate. If you have a huge tank, I recommend one meter at each end and it's quite affordable so spend the money. Best damn money I had ever spent!

Vivienne Burke: So far, so good. I checked it with ice and water. O.O degrees C. Then I tried boiling water and got HHH.H so clearly, you're not supposed to boil the fish in your aquarium. Zero and boiling point are the only two temperatures that are easy to check with no additional equipment, so I'm happy with the calibration at zero. Hopefully it's within a degree at 20 degrees C as that's good enough for my application

C. Weaver: I was looking for a replacement for an outdoor fountain thermometer that had recently given up the ghost on me. The old one was one of the wireless type which I have had a lot of trouble getting to work right. That's when I ran across this. My first concern before I got it was the sensor probe's wire cord length as I need one with at least a 10 foot cord to reach into the house from the fountain. It fit the bill in that respect. The other consideration was the outdoor probe's temp range. I had had an wireless one that didn't have the needed range for the use I needed it for. This thermometer's range on the outdoor probe was -58 F to 158 F and that fit the bill so I ordered it. On getting it in, I was pleased to find that it also had high and low memory and an alarm that you can set if you go thru a certain high or low temp. This seemed to be just what I wanted. (I'm using mind to keep an eye on the water temp in a fountain just outside my side yard window on my trailer.) After reading the instruction manual and getting the battery installed (It comes with one which is nice these days when I lot of battery operated stuff doesn't.). It looked for a place to mount it. This is the...

buywconfidence: Installed about 3 months ago, haven't had an issue. Line was long enough to go from center console in car to the trunk. I needed a line that was very long, and this was the biggest selling point for me.
I taped temp indicator to my car amp, seems to be pretty accurate. Even if it's not 100% accurate, it is still better than nothing and I still have some kind of idea what the temp is like in the trunk.
