ryan: Bought because I've had great luck with my gearwrench products but when this arrived and I checked it with my shops calibration tool it overtourqes by 15ftlbs, I will make de because I know where to set it to get an accurate touqe but if someone bought this and never tested it they would be over-tourqing every bolt they touch

C. Hawkins: You cannot beat the quality vs. price on this torque wrench (and most Gearwrench products, really).
This wrench is built well, has very smooth action in the ratchet head and in the handle setting, and a very nice "click." I have zero doubts about it's durability and accuracy.
I am a diesel mechanic and my coworkers often make fun of me for buying "Discount tools" from brands like Gearwrench, Aircat, and Sunex, but they really don't know what they're missing. The quality of most of the tools from these brands are top notch. Maybe not *quite* as quality as the tool truck brands, but they rarely let me down, have great warranties, and are a fraction of tool truck prices.
The only concern I have with buying these value tool brands is when I actually need something warrantied from the tool truck guys, they might give me a hard time because I hardly ever buy anything from them anymore! ;)

Anjiso: The most important thing about a torque wrench is it's accuracy. This torque wrench came with a calibration certificate and I have confidence in Gear wrench. The next important thing for me is the torque range. I have a Honda Accord and the aluminum engine parts are fastened on the low side starting at 7 Ft-lbf. The spark plugs are thightened to 13 Ft-lbf. Torques for most engine, suspension, and brake are less than 75 Ft-lbf. Basically, this wrench (5 -75 Ft-lbf) covers 90 percent of small and light truck repair work. One common task in automotive repair work is removing and installing the wheels. The spec for Honda wheel lug nuts calls for 80 Ft-lbf torque which is slightly outside the range for this torque wrench. I probably torque the lug nuts to 75 Ft-lbf and then turn them another 10 or 15 degrees. The bolts involved in replacing the brake pads require less than 75 Ft-lbf. If I've have to to replace the brake rotors, I need to remove and install the brake caliper mounting bolts which requires torquing them to 80 Ft-lbf. Again, this is also slightly outside the range for this torque wrench. At any rate, if you cannot afford to buy multiple torque wrenches, this is the one you...

Tommy: If you’re an automotive technician I highly recommend this torque wrench. I havent had any issues with it or the vehicles worked on with this. Much cheaper than the tool trucks and just as good. Have techs in the shop ask me to borrow it all the time especially due to the counter clockwise torquing ability as well. Another cool feature is the ft-lbs on front and NM on the back side so you dont have to be running to the computer or checking your phones internet for the conversion. Also comes with a certificate of calibration so you know right out of the box its ready to go to work.

Dr Patrick A OConnor: Functions fine. I let it sit in my tool chest for too long before use. Needs to be worked every now and then. Rookie error on my part.
