Garmin Edge 130 Plus Cycling Computer Bundle: Accurate GPS Tracking with Heart Rate Monitor & Sensor Integration

Coach Sugi: I didn't want a larger unit with all the bells and whistles that I'd never use. This is perfect!! It paired with Garmin Connect easily and setup was simple. Heart rate monitor paired instantly and seems accurate. Went on a short ride of 80 minutes and battery life went down 13% from full charge. I am using GPS and Glonass so your battery should last longer if only GPS is used. Simple and easy to use I'd buy again.

E Russell: I need to add HRM and to replace my old Edge500 cpu that I really like. So, I tried the 130+. BUT I've fought with the Garmin HRM strap for days and it just doesn't work. However, I did pair the 130 with my Polar H10 and it worked the first time with no effort, and every subsequent time. So choose the 130 without the Garmin HRM and get a a Polar H10. I was dubious seeing all the instructions for the Garmin HRM. The 130 is way too complicated but I hope to customize the screens to make more sense. Just turning it off takes way more clicks than it should. Overall, I can't recommend the 130.

Update: After 3 chats over 3 days with Garmin Support I'm returning the whole unit since they won't replace just the HRM. Also, the 3rd chat was rude. Garmin looses another long-time customer.

I JUST WANTED SPEED, AVG. SPEED, TOTAL DIST, TIME, CALORIES. GOT IT LAST SEPT. HAVE TO LEARN OVER AGAIN FOR THIS SEASON, TOOK RIDES W/O IT ALREADY. SAMSUNG PHONE APP WORKS GREAT, JUST PHONE TOO LG FOR BIKE PURPOSES.

I had the Edge 500 (older device), but I wanted something that would provide my emergency contacts status, and tracking. I also wanted a device that I could use in the future to connect to the Radar device. I got the Edge 130 to quickly connect with the GARMIN connect app, and also with Heart Rate Monitor sensor. I have been using them since I got them, and it is fun to quickly sync the ride data with the GARMIN app without actually connecting it to the computer through USB. It has been almost two weeks, and I can say confidently that I am happy customer

eds1199: Great for the basic functions I need, milage, speed, time and HR. Like that I can configure what appears on the first screen. Heart rate monitor works well, connects quickly, and I can monitor my HR. Screen may be small but good enough even for my poor eye sight. Can add power and cadence monitors, if needed.
