V: My initial review I could not locate the drill adaptor.. I found it and the sooteater worked great.
I was disappointed that the contact number on the box was not to a customer service line.
The contact number on the box was a sales/scam line pay $1.99 and get a $100 retail coupon.

I only gave 4 stars because after using the drill adaptor repeatedly it got more difficult to push the button and remove the rod.

Amazon Customer: Chimney liner was completely clogged with creosote so bad smoke was coming out of the woodstove insert. I ordered this after watching vids on YouTube. Amazing product. Took probably 1 1/2 hrs from prep to clean out and tidy up. Creosote filled 1/3 of my firebox when I was thru. This was money well spent and costs less than one chimney sweep. I cleaned from top on second storey. Love this tool.

MikeMike: Really impressed on how quickly it assembles and disassembles. Little bit pricey though.
Only downfall is how quickly the Teflon tips wear down but as the pictures show it works really well...

Doug: Cleaned my chimney once and it payed for itself . Works quite well. Make sure to poly your opening on your fireplace and insert a shop vac. It will keep all the dust from entering your house.

Vincent Price - NOTVincent Price - NOT: The chimney sweep that serviced our chimney 20 years ago used to be a two man team—one working on the roof to feed a chimney brush down while a second person worked at the chimney down below to manage the dust. It used to cost us $110 in northern Virginia. It now costs us $185 in 2020 for a single guy coming in with the exact same tool sold here for $60 working from the fireplace itself and feeding up the brush up the chimney. So I was glad to find this tool online and do the job myself.
It’s not super easy: I had to tape up the fireplace with a plastic painters sheet to control the dust, and the brush head made a loud racket as it went up my chimney insert and was whipped around by the drill: I imagine that this tool can tear apart a chimney insert that’s not in good condition.
Even with the fireplace covered up with plastic sheet and taped, I still ended up breathing in a lot of black ash. However, the tool accomplished the desired goal of cleaning off the ash that was attached to the inside of my chimney insert as you can see in the before and after photos.

One tip: use a creosote treatment (like Rutland’s creosote remover) a couple of times to break up the...

Theresa Stauffer: I was really hesitant to buy after reading reviews about Parts coming off in stove pipe and how hard it is to take pieces apart, After a professional cleaning* was done, a few weeks later my smoke alarm went off. I took flue off stove and looked up. What I found was a pipe with creosote build up. Tried to get another professional cleaner to come but everyone was booked until mid February. Now I have Aframe and not going to Stand on ladder and try to clean top to bottom, after reading* through reviews I decided on this product to go bottom To top. The angle of going in through flue from inside stove is not quite 90 degrees, but a tough angle to start at and then a straight run till ceiling in loft where there is 2 smaller angles to get through to top of roof, 16 feet total. I should have taken picture of amount of creosote that came down, but it was shocking, Considering it was just cleaned by professional, I decided to take flue off and have a look after I was done, Could still see some creosote on black stove pipe, but could not really see top due to bends in pipe and starting to get dark, but could see some light.. Next day I decided to try again to get some of the stuff left by...

Dominic Fleury: This product work well with my chimney with a inside liner and 15 degree tilt at the bottom. It's more easy and light than traditionnel chemney brush. I made a tool for add and remove click extension that fit alone in my glove. I need my 2 hand on the top of my house.

RRMRRM: I had my doubts but was pleasantly surprised. Transitioned through the adapters to the 8" liner. Reached all the way to the cap. The fireplace went from poor draft to like new performance. Placed plastic over the doorway to mitigate mess. Once the cap was reached the plastic almost got sucked into the chimney. Stove works like new. Rods seem sturdy. I can only imagine the poor reviews were due to now following the directions I.E. Not using a drill with a clutch set to middle setting or trying to go through multiple 90 degree bends. The rods are flexible but sturdy, but not so much so as to clear mutiple 90 degree bends as mentioned above. Saved $250.00 for a cleaning and it took 15 minutes of sitting in the living room while uing it.

Phone User: I opened the box for this set today and realized that the head didn't have a hole drilled into in for the locking pin. I tried to call the manufacturer to inquire about a replacement, but found their phone number to be disconnected and their website to be available for purchase. It appears that Gardus has gone out of business!
I fixed the issue by drilling the required hole into the head, but it leaves me wondering about the overall quality of the set.
I used the set to clean my insert's jacketed 6" pipe (about 20' in length) from the bottom up. The set generally worked well. The instructions warn not to run your drill over 1,500 RPM, so I was careful not to run the drill too fast.
I do like that the kit came with extra screws to hold the brush line in place. I also appreciate that the "brush" material is the same line that my gas weed eater uses, so it will be easy to replace when worn, since I already have the material onhand.
