Amazon Customer: I was looking for a good product for a Pitt/husky mix this is working great, she isn’t fond of most dog brushes with her lack of an undercoat they’re hard on her skin but so far this is perfect and she relaxes for brushing and even lays down.

Amazon Customer: I have a Weimaraner and this is by far the best brush we have tried. It easily removed a handful of hair from a dog I didn’t think shed that much. The rubber picks up the hair very efficiently without bothering my dog’s skin or ripping any hair. I would highly recommend!

TofflingtonTofflington: After using this for almost 2 years, my true and honest review is that I cannot live without this comb!

I do think it works differently on different type of dog hair so it’s worth reading through some reviews to see if this could work for yours.

I have a pair of chihuahua/dachshund mix. Although they’re siblings… and are both short hair, but their fur have very different texture. One is harder and more straight, the other one is much thinner, softer, flying everywhere like down feathers. When I first used the comb, it worked amazingly on my hard-hair one but not so much on my soft-hair one. However, I tried it again at different season (this time at prime shredding season in early Summer) and it works extremely well on both of them! Look at how much hair came off in the picture. It’s truly amazing. Plus it’s so easy to clean the comb. I 100% recommend.

KnirpsLyn: I had been looking for a brush for my AmStaff, short prickly hair and all muscle. When Googling, lists are full of these 2inch long silkers and razor furminators and those just aren't reasonable or logical for an animal with short, tight hair. These lists prominently feature hair brush types with giant bulbous or even sharp ends...nonsensical. To that point, I have a longhair dog as well and we tried her brushes on my shorthair dog...they don't work. These pages are clearly just link click farm sites and are useless. After several lists and pages and blogs I stumbled onto the image of this product in Google images and was like THIS, THIS IS WHAT I NEED! And I was right.

Not only is this the only brush to remove hair, it's also effective in removing dander. My dog recently underwent a dietary and medication change for her allergies and was in full transformation. I bought this brush to help and it removed the old flakey skin and hair effectively. Not a 'lot' of hair came off but that's not the point, the point is to remove what needs to be removed and this does it exceptionally well. As a bonus, this is a fantastic product in the bath helping...

Alex BeyerAlex Beyer: Not worthy of the Furminator name. It doesn't do a great job and man the strap on the back of it is really small. I can barely fit my two fingers into the loop on the back and I don't have big hands. It's clearly made for children and women. Also, mine were grey, not green as in the picture. Seems to be a common issue.

I bought another one that was cheaper, fit my hand, the dog seemed to like better, and actually attracted the visible loose hairs. Maybe, it works better on medium to long hair dogs, but mine is a short hair coonhound. I have their brush/comb thing and that works great. I wanted something for the in between deshedding that wasn't as sharp and I was afraid of drying out his skin. It's decent as a massager, but not much more.

TrippetTrippet: 20200514: This remains my go-to brush for the porcupine dog. Her hair is like the top coat of a labrador - kind of soft, kind of stiff, and she has no undercoat. No other brush gets the hair off. I can brush her straight or I can use it like a true curry comb and go in circles - doesn't matter, the hair falls off. It works magic on my triple-coated pup, and the medium-haired cat, too. I used to use a shedding blade on both of them, but this is gentler and they tolerate it for far longer. I only wish that darn strap was adjustable. Works left or right-handed.

I think perhaps folks who are complaining aren't realizing where the hair is going. I have three dogs: Dachshund, Boxer mix, Husky / Spitz mix and feel I can give a wide spectrum review due to the disparity of coats they have.

The Boxer mix (50% Golden Retriever, 25% Boxer, 25% American Staffordshire Terrier, but her hair is nothing like a Golden (her personality is, though, woot!), more like a Lab so we'll go with Boxer): Her hair doesn't come off with a pin brush, bristle brush, or shedding blade. She has no real undercoat to speak of like a Lab would, just that coarse long top...

Salim Khan: This is an amazing brush for Cat & Kitten Hair Grooming. Does the job beautifully without hurting the cats. i have two cats and both of them did not mind me brushing them with this. Loose hair got stuck into this comb which can be removed easily.

Highly recommended for regular use.
