Barb Galbraith: Relatively easy to assemble.
Looks just like the photos provided.
Two height options are a nice feature.
Not sure how good bed slats will be over the long term for a platform style mattress.

Susan S.: First off, the assembly instructions were THE BEST I have EVER encountered among the many, many items I've assembled over the years. That is why I gave 5 stars for Easy to Assemble. It's actually quite a bit of work involved and rather time consuming, but the result is a sturdy bed. I was truly impressed with its build. LOTS of "slats" for good support.

I also think it's a very attractive, while inexpensive, piece of furniture. However, the one negative, minor (IMO), is that it does scratch easily. This happened only in the course of assembly, and only on parts that are not visible.

I have been sleeping on the top bed, on a latex mattress, for about a month now. Very comfortable. I can't comment on the lower bed in that regard because it has not been used. (I would have a hard time getting up from it if I did. I doubt that would be a problem for a younger, spryer person.) I did find that pushing that lower bed under the top one was no piece of cake. It really "just fits," so takes a bit of finesse. Also, unless I was doing something wrong with the casters, it didn't roll real easily. Wasn't horrible, but didn't just slide right under. ...

The box was 60% of my body weight (75 lbs.) so it was a struggle to get it up the stairs on my own. The box is so tightly glued I finally had to get a butcher’s knife to pry it open. Make sure all the parts are accounted for. It’s no sense of getting started only to find half way through you don’t everything you need. Now, it gets easier because you’re dealing with smaller, light parts instead of the heavy, cumbersome box.

So far so good, no dents, dings or scratches. There were no missing parts. Dive in and follow the directions. Minimize overwhelm by focusing on only one step at a time. Here is where I ran into trouble. I couldn’t understand how the other lady held on to a headboard that was over 6 feet long, balanced it, lined up the holes, placed the screws in the holes...

MinervaMinerva: I am currently giving this bed a five star review despite minor problems with assembly.

SHIPPING:
Very heavy box. Shake the box after pulling out all of the long metal parts to ensure you get all of the small boxes containing the little pieces needed for assembly.

STRENGTH:
The description says the daybed a holds up to 400 pounds. It feels strong and secure to me, though it has only been holding my 129 pounds and my cat’s 13 pounds supportively and comfortably for about 28 hours now. I may revise my review depending on how it holds up over time under more strain.

APPEARANCE:
It has an attractive design that fits in well with contemporary and antique style rooms. This daybed provides very spacious seating once you put a mattress on it while taking up less space than some other frames for twin mattresses. I like the dull dark brown color because it matches some wooden furniture finishes; I would not have liked it as much if it were shiny.

DAYBED ASSEMBLY:
The instructions were clear and no pieces were missing. This bed would have been easier to assemble with two people. As a young woman living alone, I managed to do it...
