The first scan was fine but the paper jammed when I tried to do multiple scans, make sure you have the guide pieces that pull out at the top to channel the paper through in a straight line in place or it will likely go off course and jam. I think this is probably a good product but it was more delicate than I expected and after the first paper jam I couldn't get it to work properly as it kept reporting a jam. No problems with windows 10. I returned this one and got a more basic canon flatbed scanner in the end for half the price.

SQ320: My previous scansnap had given about 15 years of solid service and was still going strong, but could not handle the latest OS on my Mac. Hence the need for an upgrade. I did not need a machine with the same level of functionality as the previous model (I don't scan as much as i used to) and this seemed to fit the bill.
It seems less 'solid'/'robust' than the previous model (S510M), but is way cheaper and far more compact, which really helps.
The most important thing is that it scans perfectly, it was a breeze to set up and the software seems to be far more intelligent.
Overall seems to be excellent value for money.

crankin: Here's the deal....
This is a great simple reliable scanner. Better than any big expensive scanner that that i've seen in any other office. Everybody is jealous of this little beast. it goes and goes and goes. Jams are easy and quick the fix. The software is simple.
However...
I owned the previous model (exact same machine)... for about 8 years or so. And it still was going strong! But they changed the firmware making it incompatible with the new version of Windows OS. Forcing me to buy essentially the exact same item again. That being said, i have faith the this new one will have the same reliability and robustness as my previous one. I hope that I can use this one till it dies... not "planned obsoleteness"

Chris: This scanner is good but the app is not great. I have a high volume of scans to do at a time. Each document needs to be saved to a folder by user input...which makes doing things fast impossible...Ideally, all of the scans would save to a folder automatically. For some reason, I had problems installing the various apps to my computer and one of the organizer apps for this device keeps bringing back an error every time I start the scanner, which is a bit of a nuisance. So the install process could have been better.
As far as performance goes, it's a good scanner. It handles odd shaped documents (POS receipts, etc) and is not so fussy about what condition they are in.
I purchased it to be portable so I can take it along with me when visiting clients. So as far as that goes, it's working as planned.

Eddie B.: I'm a contractor in IT. I work on my own and needed a good solution for scanning and storing tax receipts as well as having a generalized document scanner for storing other documents I want to digitize. For the past year~, I have been using Neat Receipts, which was a quick, impulse buy when I needed a better way to store my receipts and track my deductions. Neat Receipts was driving me up the wall with numerous software-related issues; eventually I couldn't take it anymore and started searching for a new document scanning solution.
I researched and investigated several document scanners out there, including models by Epson, Doxie, Brother and VuPoint. Some of them look great, but to my surprise, many were limited with tax-receipt solutions (they would scan documents, but didn't really have OCR-capable receipt software bundled in). I needed something that came bundled with some solid software for storing all of my tax receipts. One name kept coming up in my searches as the best all-in-on document scanner; Fujitsu. Albeit I work in IT and I am extremely competent in computer hardware, I was not very familiar with Fujitsu as a company and can't say I've ever owned nor worked with...

Purgandi Dracointerfectorem: I purchased this scanner in October, 2013. It is still working great! This scanner is a huge time-saver, as it works faster than a flat-bed scanner, and faster than the home-office scanner that has a feed. This is my go-to scanner!
Pros: The results are just as good as what can be obtained on a flat-bed.
You may select black & white, grayscale, or color.
It is portable, making it easy to move around the house to your working area
It can go along to meetings, with your laptop. This is handy when there are things that may need to be scanned.
This scanner also allowed me to make optimal use of business trips, getting work done wherever I was.
I have brought it into the classroom on days when students evaluate each other, so that I can scan copies of the evals for my record, and
still have the students turn around discuss their suggestions with each other during the same class period.
It can be set to duplex or single scan.
If you are on duplex, yet there is an occasional one-sided page, it will skip the blank pages for you.
It is able to scan to pdf or jpg
If pdf mode, you may also have it go slower and convert the file so that it can...

Nina: The instructions were wrong, sending you to a website that doesn't exist. Took me some searching to find it. Worked okay the first day. Now, it is not scanning. Just gets stuck halfway through. I had a ScanSnap S1500 and that thing was awesome. This works about as well as an image scanner that I bought for $80 for my parents.
