Mahesh Paryani: This was purchased after a lot of research,By far after using it for 6 to 8 months it has proved its worth, My idea was to build up a paperless office that requires a lot of scanning work. If it was to be done on the multi function printers it would have taken out the fun out of it.
It scans as if you are applying butter to your bread. smooth and fast with one stroke.
The only thing missing is the scanning of continuous stationery papers and papers larger than A4 and legal size. It has an option to scan large papers but that's time consuming process
It resolves the purpose for which i have purchased it

Meghan H.: I LOVE THIS SCANNER. I am converting my paper files to digital to reduce clutter and it is SO FAST. SO SIMPLE. It took me a bit to figure out how to have the PDF files saved to my hard drive instead of the temporary folder... MAKE SURE you do this, because the file folder will erase them when your session is over and you restart your computer. Make sure you're choosing to save to a folder on your hard drive (like Documents), and not just assuming they're safe in the temp folder. Setup was fast and easy. Scanner is quiet. I love it. A huge splurge for our home (not a small business) but I am an office supply dork so I'm thrilled with it. Hope it keeps up the good quality work! Still figuring out the settings and tweaking things like bleedthrough... I am still learning. You won't be disappointed by this powerhouse. Oh, note, it can take LONG sheets of paper (like legal size) but nothing wider than usual.

Grazka: Fujitsu ix 500 scan snap far exceeded my expectations. It was recommended for scanning multiple pages of documents in a short time.It is expensive, but its been paying for itself in a huge way.If one has lots of documents to scan with speed and ease of use, one should simply buy it.Yes it cost far more , but it delivers far more as well.
Super happy with it.Everyone if the office wants to use it now.We only have one of them. The other gets time off as everyone gravitates to Fujitsu ix 500 ever since we got it.
In fact considering one more when I have enough $$$$ Would give it 10 stars if I could.
Super easy set up ( If I can do it anyone can, seriously)
Don't think of the price cause you will be impressed with it.Thank you Fujitsu for this item.

Sam: July27 Update: A HUGE common problem is that his device constantly looses USB wired connection to Windows 10. I have to uninstall and reinstall the software regularly. If it wasn't for the wifi capability this would be total garbage. Wifi scanning is incredibly slow. So all in all pretty annoying! I called their tech support and they fixed it right away. Super professional and knowledgeable: 1800.263.8716
Incredible scanner! Wow, blown away at how easy it is to use and how smooth and effective. I've been looking for an effective scanner for a year. This product is what I've been looking for. The scans are nice and straight. Little to no noise from the machine. Easily does 60 pages (haven't tried more yet). I can easily save the PDF files to my Dropbox folders. Scanned around 700 pages today in about 30min. This is already helping declutter the mounds of paperwork in the office. I just received it today so I still have many of its features to try, but so far I'm impressed. Super fast 1 day shipping. The software setup was the only thing that took long, at around 30min to install.
UPDATE MAY 28: Tried the wifi connection. Super slow! I guess I won't be using that feature

UT Gasman: The Fujitsu iX500 ScanSnap Scanner is worth the money and work to set up. It performs as expected, which is to say it scans regular size documents very quickly and with good resolution, single or double sided.
I am a bit of a sentimental hoarder and have had as a project for awhile digitizing my kids' schoolwork. I first bought a NEAT scanner for this task before they started their cloud service, and once that happened I no longer wanted to use that scanner. The functionality was fine if you used the proprietary software for organizing things, but once they stopped supporting it to push people to use their cloud service I found the scanner substandard when scanning documents directly to PDFs (because you had to pick a file name each time you scanned a new group of documents). I had heard good reviews of the scansnap ix500, and with the piles of paper I needed to scan piling up I decided to try it out even though I didn't like the sound of it being a device that didn't support the TWAIN thing (background on me: I'm middle aged, so even though I don't work in IT I do consider myself reasonably savvy with electronics because I've spent most of my life having to use computers)....

Jason R: I cannot say enough great things about this scanner, so i will jump into the finer points:
1. It's a workhorse. We've been digitizing our entire paper archive of about 500 sheet PER DAY and this scanner has kept up.
2. It's a thoughtful device. When you scan as much as we do, little annoyances become a big deal. Whoever designed this thing thought through all those little annoyances and made most of them go away. I like how the unit recovers from jams and understands which pages to keep and which pages to toss. I like how the one-touch scan button understands when I want to begin a scan and resume a scan. That means I don't have to click over the PC software in order to recover. The unit really does auto-straighten, auto-contrast, auto-2-side, auto-1-side, auto-orientation. It's hard to screw up a scan. The scanning engine even knows how to look for ink/toner bleed through from one side of a page to the other and contrast it out. Wow!
3. Cleaning and care is pretty easy. After 500 pages, there's going to be a little debris in the scanner. The eject button and fold out top is designed well enough that it's easy to gently blow out particles and carefully clean...

ShopperExtraordinaire: Only had it 2 weeks to date. So, far - excellent scanner but for inability to scan wirelessly...so far. Excellent software that comes with it. But while I was able to get it to work perfectly while attached with a USB, I had to resort to that when it would not scan when connected wirelessly, which is what I tried to set up first. No troubleshooting would solve the inability to scan wirelessly, even after confirming it was connected to the network and "Ready to Scan". Would give it 5 stars if that had worked out of the box. Still hopeful it will work that way, but just have not had the always ridiculous amount of time it takes to solve wireless connection issues. But if wireless is not an issue, could not recommend this more. For the price, I am hoping to get the wireless scanning working eventually.
