Jacqueline Norton: Looks just like the ones I remember from grandparents wood logs - it’s fire -illumination the extra settings, the remote - can control the temperature-even just push heated air vs the beautiful logs - 2nd for this condo bought several for my parents they just get better & better - we love the brand - want be disappointed it actually is a great accent piece - didn’t see ride in my heat bill it was the reverses .. definitely recommend for the value & price

Kimberly Childers: I love this metal heater!! Gets warm fast and blows out heat from the bottom. The remote is awesome and is perfect when you are in bed or on the couch. I cannot say enough good things about this cute and efficient heater!

Adam BAdam B: Elephant in the room: Obviously you can tell it's not real fire if you're paying attention. It's a projection on the fake logs and the back of the unit. It's not gonna fool you into thinking it's real fire when you already know it isn't. But out of the corner of your eye if you didn't know it was an electric fireplace, it would definitely make you look twice. Like "You have a fireplace? But this is an apartment! Ohhh it's electric, ok." That kind of reaction. It does look pretty good for a projection.
The heater puts out a nice pleasant amount of heat. Really warms your toes (literally) when you're standing right next to it, but won't set you on fire. The cat likes to sleep in front of it, to give you an idea. It's not a heavy-duty heater, but will take the edge off a chilly room while adding all the ambiance of a fire with none of the fire code violations.
I like to match this up with a Bluetooth speaker and a sleep sound app I have, which can play a crackling fire sound. Light a balsam fir incense stick at the same time, and it really sells the wood stove illusion. The light, the heat, the smell, the sound, even knowing it's fake when you've got that...

Amy Black: The media could not be loaded.  It's already cold in October in Missouri and I wanted something to heat the living room in the evenings but don't want to turn on the furnace yet. My house is 1915 and this fits perfectly in my non-functioning fireplace. Has a strong heater or you can do the flame function alone, and it's a realistic flame, with remote. Side note: plug this into an extension cord alone into in an outlet if need be, not an extension bar, it shut off. Old house approved. Happy with my purchase for the price.

Cheryl A.L.Cheryl A.L.: The media could not be loaded.  This particular model, Duraflame DFI-550-22 Freestanding Infrared Quartz Fireplace Stove with Remote Control 1500W, Black, has been working great, so far. It also has a thermostat and a remote control. It arrived early, which was a nice surprise. Our house is 1500 square feet, but it's a split level. By the way, never buy a split level. Too many problems. Anyway, we're using this heater for the upstairs and we're really enjoying it. So far it's keeping the upstairs very comfortable. Our house has the living room, kitchen and dining room, all joined together in one area. And this heater is keeping the entire area very comfortable.

Ours did Not come with the metal legs but the legs it did come with, were really easy to put on.

Also, the fan is so quiet. Love it. We don't have to turn up the tv when the fan on this fireplace comes...

Diana Aitchison: It doesn't heat as well as I expected an infrared heater rated for 1,000 square feet would. I've had a standard electric stove in the past, smaller than this one, which put out approximately the same heat. Also fairly noisy.
