william a spisak: General info on shell companies. Saw the movie "The Laundromat" and helped to augment. Sad but true. Hopefully our govt has figured it out (sic).

Kindle Customer: This book blew me away. Capone was a novice compared to these HONEST people. Well written and a totally depressing what they get away with if you've lived an honest life.

shannon: Wow, what a story…I remembered when it came out. It was like wildfire but it didn’t consume all who engaged in offshore accounts. I think the author pulled off pretty good writing. There are two things that I wished the author would be included in this book would be a demo of the visual on entangle of the whole account setup. It was hard for me to imagine how complex but simple it is. Also, 2 terabytes seem insignificant to me but as the author mentioned all previous data leaks were gigabytes but the picture cue would help to bring in the imagination. Overall, I think this book is decent to read!

jaybird: I was expecting the book to be more intense and a page turner. But sadly it was not to be. I’m sure if I will recommend this book unless you are really interested in the specific details of how each politician/country/corporation works they system. The specifics get pretty dry after you read the first one.
Once you get the gist of how it is done and get surprised at some of the big names involved, there’s not much more to keep you interested.
The company at the center of it is called Mossack Fonseca. It helps politicians, stars, corporations, etc hide their money. It is global, so this formula applies to the elite in almost every country. We’re the chumps paying taxes, the rich float above it all.
The number of big names using their service was the most startling finding. Here’s a sample :
Syrian President Assad and his wife, President of UAE, Former President of Jordan, Palestinian Deputy PM, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Brother in low of XiJing Ping, Putin, other high officials in the Chinese elite, Argentinian Prime Minister and the former Prime Minister as well, German companies hiding slush funds to influence various South American countries/companies to...

Edward Milner: This is a very important book covering as it does the whole appalling international scandal revealed by the leaking of millions of confidential finanicial documents from the Panama lawyers Mossack Fonseca. Reading like a John Le Carre thriller, it documents the story of how this scandal unfolded with the unprecendented collaboration between journalists at Suddeutshce Zeitung and responsible elements of the press in many countries. The toxic effects of the criminality revealed has resulted in resignations of senior political figures in a number of counries, and undermined trust in politicians across the world. There really is one rule for the rich and powerful and another for the rest of us. Bastian and Frederik Obermayer's account of the unfolding story is a classic.

Truth Devour: Truly amazing read. John Doe - the informer is very brave to have revealed all this data to expose the deep interlace of greed and corruption. Especially given the way Snowden, Assange & other people have been treated when doing the same. It would be an unfortunate deterrent to say the least.
The John Doe who released this wealth of data is a silent global warrior.

Dorothy K Morris, Author of the Mockingbird Hill Series: I am reminded of the old saying, "Where there is a will, there is a way." For every law that is passed to curtail the activities of certain types of people, new criminals are established, because with bribes, threats, power and money, these people will find a way to do as they wish. The system, I am sure, has been around in one form or another for hundreds of years. The powerful and rich elite find ways to keep that power and wealth and they do not care who they abuse in the process. This book told us how it is done. Do I think anything will change? Not a chance. But it does help to understand it all. If two college students studying finance and business read the book, one might decide to work against the evil, and the other might decide to learn more about how it is done and join the fun. People are human and greed for money and power will always be with us.
