jack: I bought this copy to give to my niece. Discovered the book forty-five years ago. And the financial advice was sound. Went from broke (student) to wealthy. The steps are easy to understand but do take some determination to stay on course. In my case - it was a steady push from my wife.

Matthew: One of the most highly recommended books for personal finance. This book was a great read and one of my favorites so far out of the many I have read. An easy read with multiple stories giving you examples while still being intriguing and fun.

Amazon CustomerAmazon Customer: Babylon was the biggest city in the world about 4000 years ago. The wisdom of creating personal wealth narrated in old English ('thee', not 'you') is still a wonderful read. Easy and elegant, through multiple stories, the fundamentals shared still hold so true. Respect, value for one's word, freedom of slaves, love for work, and the power of compounding - nothing in this book should surprise you. The narration hold your attention and the messages will deeply impact you. The last story is for the young talented individuals - getting rich is not a magic wand. Are you happy with the boring and steady returns in the long run than a multi bagger you can brag to your friends ? Happy reading.

Amari Janae: The book itself is a very boring book to read, I’m only on chapter 1 and I already have not picked it back up.

zipitypete: I received a copy of this book when I was 20 years old. It has been like the Bible for me. I have read it and re-read it many times. I can tell you that you can attain wealth if you follow the message. I bought these last books for my grandchildren. I hope they will follow it as well. For my spouse and I, the last 60 years have been guided by the message and the quality of life that we enjoy today is the fulfillment of saving for the future. It is worth it.

MKN: The richest man in Babylon
When we speak of history, Babylon is a city that we associate with much wealth and prosperity, however it wasn't always like that. The city of Babylon is a clear example of mans ability to achieve much even though they had little at their disposal.
Babylon had only two natural resources, fertile soil and river water , through this and the wisdom they possessed, they were able to build one of the greatest cities ever. They engineered dams which allowed the water to flow onto the fertile soil, encouraging the growth of crops in abundance. It is believed the trading of these crops was the stepping stone for their wealth and splendor.
Unlike other well known cities in history, Babylon was that which did not require the use of raiding to increase their profits, though it happened it wasn't incidental to their success as many of their battles were on the defense against opposing forces who aimed to overcome this great city. Their defenses, the sky scraping walls they built, also considered as great as the pyramids of Egypt, were crucial in their survival, and is claimed as one of the seven wonders of the world.
It is believed that the...
