Sullypro: This is easy to read and well organized. It is perfect for a upper Danube River cruise which we are planning. There is way more to see and explore than a two-week cruise can accommodate but it is well written and a good reference source at a fair price.

Mark: I usually prefer Rough Guide travel books but at the time of purchase theirs was a bit out of date so I thought I would try Fodor, having not used one of their before.
For the most part it is good, giving lots of different suggestions, some great photographs of things that give a hint at what is to see, eat and explore, and the information generally appears clear and accurate. There's also some helpful little tips and comments, e.g. "this is interesting but a bit overpriced for what it is" which can help if you're trying to choose between one thing or the other.
There are a couple of problems though which for me really let this guide down. The first is perhaps just personal preference, but I find the legend on the maps a bit difficult. They are a mix of blue, green, red and orange circles with numbers inside to denote attractions, hotels, restaurants etc. The blue and green are a little hard to distinguish at times, and my partner is colour-blind so even worse for her. I've seen maps in the past that just kept all the attractions / hotels etc. as a long list of numbers so you weren't trying to distinguish a red 3 from an orange 3 or whatever.
