Evon: For anyone wondering about the aluminum hose ends on the 3/8th ID hose, the fitting inner diameters are less than a 1/4 inch. Like around 0.230 inches. That's a big restriction in your system. I cut the hose ends off and crimped 3/8 barb fittings on to help.
One other thing is the hose inlet swivel from the compressor to the reel, same deal there, the ID is way too small for a 3/8 hose so I took the assembly apart and drilled out the "brass" fitting diameters (3ish holes). It's colored brass but it's not brass.

S. Smith: This was as expected. I own two FlexZilla water hoses, and this air hose is the same material, good quality, and works well. My only complaint is that the reel came with absolutely no installation/assembly instructions. The assembly was easy (common sense), and I watch some online videos on how to install on a wall (concrete). All good now.

Todd Gorman: This is a great product, it works very well for me. Some reviewers say that they have trouble getting the hose to latch and not retract when extending the air hose. Just listen for the clicks as you extend the hose. You need to stop pulling out the hose when you hear the clicks, that is when it will latch.
I use this air hose reel every day in a professional shop environment. it performs very well for me. As for the mounting issues that some have stated, no it does not come with mounting hardware, they would have no idea what you intend to mount to. One mounting tip I can give you is to trace out the mounting plate sitting on top of a piece of paper to give you a pattern where to drill the holes required for your application. Just take the pattern and tape it in the spot required and drill the required holes.

Noodles: This reel saves me so much time its hard to justify not owning one. It avoids trip hazards when installed on a ceiling, you need less hose out to do the work and it winds back up very consistently. A male connection on the end going into my compressor would be a nice addition to the package and the hose connecting to the reel could be a bit longer for a little more freedom.
