SC 53: I did enjoy this book. It was a story within a story.and I thought the characters were well drawn. Some of it made harrowing reading - the occupation of France during the Second World War was not a happy time, but there is some benefit to knowing the outcome. I’m not a great fan of books that jump between times, but it was clearly done and so easy to follow.

VICKI L. ANDERSEN: Very well written, slow in the beginning but better once the plot is established. Enjoyable but not captivating. Gives a personal perspective of individual’s life during the German occupation of France.

Kitty Kuehl: Several years ago I read The Dressmaker’s Secret, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Then just recently I stumbled upon A Season of Dreams, I realized it was a series, so naturally, I completed the series with The Beekeeper’s Promise. The story is captivating and the characters are memorable and interesting.
