The Squier by Fender Classic Vibe 60s Mustang Electric Guitar - Laurel - Vintage White is the perfect gift for any aspiring guitarist. Featuring a vintage-tinted gloss neck finish, corrosion-resistant nickel-plated hardware, and Fender-designed alnico pick-ups, this guitar is designed to last. The pick-ups offer a smaller amount of string vibration, providing a unique sound that is sure to please. With its great design, convenience, and overall satisfaction, this electric guitar is sure to be a hit. Tricksy Raistlin: I had seen a few video teardowns of the Squier Classic Vibe 70s Jaguar and had my concerns, but I decided to take a chance and order through Prime so I could return it if needed.
I am keeping the guitar. Here’s my take:
Pros -
• The 22-fret neck feels great; shorter scale length makes it pretty easy to play. My Strat and Tele each have 21 frets, and I like the extra real-estate that even the one additional fret provides.
• Alnico pickups are jangly and punchy, and once I figured out the Jaguar’s switching I was pulling warm jazziness, solid overdriven rock, Tele twang, and Strat chime, but all with something extra that I think might be unique to the Jag. Sounded real nice. Didn’t hear any hum even with gain, but that’s going to depend on other factors besides just the guitar, so don’t rule out the possibility of hum/noise with your own gear.
• No “barbed-wire” frets when running my hand along the side of the neck.
• Electronics are sound. The switching takes getting used to.
• Guitar is holding tune.
• Was planning to put in locking tuners, but I kinda like these vintage style tuners.
• Looks fantastic. Let’s all...

Jorge: Love my new guitar, it was listed as good condition, but was actually flawless, glad I was able to save a few bucks. The only thing it needed was to condition the neck as it was very dry, but overall I could not be happier with this guitar. The sound is great and the look of the guitar is awesome.

PHofHP: I had an American-made Jazzmaster in 1965, and have owned more than 25 guitars over the years. The Jazzmaster has a unique "surf guitar" sound with both pickups on and I missed it! This Squier version has it in spades. The quality of this Indonesian-made guitar was top-notch- finish, plating, intonation, neck pocket fit- basically everything about the guitar. I suspect that computer-controlled NC machines these days are even more accurate than the ones used in the 60's. I changed the strings from the factory-installed .009-.042 to a set of .010-.046, gave the truss rod 1/4 turn anticlockwise, verified the resulting neck relief, gave the neck a coat of F-One oil since it was pretty dry, and gave the strings and back of the neck a shot of Tone Finger-Ease. Vive la difference! (These products are available on Amazon and I highly recommend them both). I couldn't be happier- especially since there was a $100 off sale when I purchased my Jazzmaster! Thanks, Fender, my Telecaster now has a cousin to play with!

Gary Dunn: I love how Amazon carefully packaged it.
I love this Jaguar model's ability to provide that chime and jangle sound in tunes that require it. But it can provide other sound identities that are harder as well. Very magical sound production and amazing quality for the low affordable cost!

SurfRock2: The Squier Classic Vibe Series have great value. For around 400€ you get a lot of guitar that is very beautifully build an crafted. I bought the Surf Green Jaguar and I am in love with this guitar. Not only is the color a very tasteful fresh tone, I love just how it sort of transform in different lighting. It almost looks like Sonic Blue sometimes, other times like olympic white. The neck and headstock tint looks excellent, almost like this guitar has been sitting in a smoked-filled bar for some more years. I really like it. It gives it such an old and vintage vibe. All in all I i can only recommend this, but still i have to include a couple flaws and downsides I want to mention.
1. There is a couple of imperfections (mainly on the back so it doesn't really bother me that much) to the finish of the body. It almost looks like the color paint layer or the clear coat had some minor runs and drips. But nothing earth-shattering.
2. The nut was incredible high, meaning I had to file it down quite a bit to get chords to play in tune and to overall make it easier and actually comfortable to play.
3. The fretboard was very very dried out. So dry that it already had...

DyushaDyusha: It is perhaps worth saying that i am comparing this Squier Mustang Classic Vibe with more expensive Gibson SG'61 Reissue, Fender American Vintage '62 Jazzmaster and Fender 60th anniversary American Stratocaster electric guitars. First of all the Squier Mustang is a beautiful guitar from every point of view, that however requires some proper setup.
Pros:
- The body is solid and thick, the neck and the head stock are great, smooth and very well done.
- Surprisingly the tuners are of a decent quality and will keep the guitar in tune very well.
- The bridge is good as well as the tremolo unit.
- I did not remove the pickguard but i am sure that the electronics is of solid quality. Both volume and tone knobs are dead silent and issueless.
- It sounds great, my favorite is the bridge pick up however both pickups together sound pretty awesome.
- Very comfortable neck profile.
Cons:
- The only major issue this guitar has is a fret work, - the fret ends are razor sharp; which is however fixable using proper tools and experience.
- One of the nut slots was filed flat causing a sitar effect on B string.
These are the steps I did to bring the...

hawkingrace: I've wanted a Jazzmaster for years but I could never afford one and I refused to do financing as I don't want to incur debt. Even the old Jazzmaster Vintage Modified's were still too expensive during the season of life I was in, but recently I was able to save up the cash to go guitar shopping again.
I play electric guitar in my church worship team. I don't need anything to crazy, as long as the playability, tone and there. Recently, I walked into a guitar store and saw the Sonic Blue Jazzmaster Classic VIbe and I was immediately drawn to its striking appearance. When I picked it up the weight was just right. Not too heavy or light. The C-Shape neck is super comfortable and smooth and the Indian Laurel Fingerboard feels nice. The overall build quality feels inline to what you'd see in a Fender line Jazzmaster. If you pull up the specs on Fender.com on both the Squier JM and Fender JM you'll see a ton of similar parts (and possibly some better specs).
The tone is fantastic and you can really get a tone of range out of the Duncan designed pickups and various selectors and circuits. If you're a guitarist on a low budget or you're looking for your first guitar, this is a...
