Beau Manikoth: I wear it when sitting and typing. Seems to prevent some of that lower back pain and stiffness. Not a miracle cure by any means, but it helps.

A few months back, I fell on the ice, hurting my back. I tried a month of bedrest, and everything got worse. I didn't realize that I had a fractured and dislocated L1 vertebrae, and ended up in the hospital for 9 days after my spinal cord swelled outside of my spinal column and paralyzed my right hip, leg, and foot - terrifying. After several types of epidural shots in my back and resetting the vertebrae, I was discharged in a wheelchair for a month of home PT and OT. Half way through and still bedridden, I was ready to explore other options. I researched back brace options all over Google and Bing for review lists and finally Amazon customer reviews. All pointed me to name brand medical braces, but I was concerned because several comments expressed concern that while medical grade, the velcro broke down quickly, making the brace useless. I read the reviews for this product, and I admit, I was enticed by the "Oh my god!" comments and others who commented on how well it worked.
