Cat: I needed this because for me I always find escapism here. Somehow I even manage to find some inspiration to continue the drudgery lol .
Amazing read. I only wish it was longer cos I didn’t want to stop.

Kindle Customer: Ilona Andrews has introduced us to a world that is full of surprises and adventures and joy. Two people who should be enemies have the intelligence to realize that they can work together. And we have the fun of watching the relationship grow and evolve. And the satisfaction of watching them successfully kill the bad guys and then deal with their feuding families.

Sew Kitty: This is the 4th story within the Kinsman Universe. For those of you who are intrigued by sci fi, body augmentation, spy intrigues, beautiful imagery and a lovely couple who learn to dance in synchronicity with their martial skills in order to try to foil a nefarious plot, this is a lovely and quite satisfying book to read. The previous stories are wonderful as well.

K Reviews: Fated Blades is the 3rd entry in the Kinsmen series. The first two entries in the series are novellas - Silent Blade and Silver Shark, which are also republished in the collection "The Kinsmen Universe". Each of the stories is fairly standalone though they share the same world-building. It's probably best to start with the novellas either independently or in The Kinsmen Universe collection.

This is the longest entry in the series so far - a short novel of about 220 pages, so it's a quick read. As with all of Ilona Andrews' work, the action moves quickly, the characters are engaging, there's some humorous moments and some creativity with the world-building.

Our two main characters in this book are united by the betrayal of their respective spouses - with each other. They also have some compatible sci-fantasy combat abilities that are woven in to the story pretty well. It was a fun read, but nothing that's going to stick with me for that long. I need a little more length and depth to the books to get really drawn in - more like the Kate Daniels world please!

3.5 stars from me, rounded up to 4 because I really enjoy everything Ilona...

Elena Linville: Stars: 5 out of 5

Excellent modern take at the Romeo and Juliette myth, only if both Romeo and Juliette decided to join forces  and kick ass.

Once again, I am happy to announce that you can't go wrong with an Ilona Andrews book. They all range from good to excellent, no matter what series you pick up. Though I have a particular soft spot for Kate Daniels and the Innkeeper series. I somehow missed all the other books in the Kinsmen series (an oversight that I will rectify as soon as I get a hold of the first two books), but I loved this entry into the series. Oh, and by the way, you don't need to have read the previous books to enjoy this one. I went in fresh and ignorant of the world of Rada and enjoyed it immensely. Each book is meant to be read as a standalone, from what I gathered.

Anyway, here is the set up. The Adlers and the Baenas are the only two secare families on Rada, and they had a blood feud going ever since the first colonization. The reasons for that feud have been lost to the sands of time, but the families still hate each other on sight and try to kill each other on occasion. So imagine the leaders of these two...

Client Kindle: I loved it. I love the two different point of vue through the whole book, if I'm not mistaken it's the first time Andrew house did it and it's awesome.
I've missed reading for the first a book you've written for a long time. So much skills. I couldn't stop. I love the characters not perfect but caring, trying their best, complex, protecting and loving and forgiving.
I missed you guys so much, you're the best there is out there, love you so much,

Mina: Actually, I didn’t think that Ilona Andrews would ever return to the „Kinsmen“ universe, but they did and it was awesome. You needn’t have read the other two books, but since they’re really good, I definitely would (they aren’t connected plot-wise, so you can start here).
So Ramona Adler and Matias Baena are the heads of their respective kinsmen families that hate each other fiercely (the why of it is explained in due course). But because of things (the coolest premises, but not to be spoiled here), Ramona and Matias need to work together and prevent a group of common enemies from destroying both their families’ businesses.
Oh what an awesome world! The society, the science, the politics… everything fits the overall picture flawlessly. The world is not only a great background for the story, but plays a huge part of the awesomeness of the „Kinsmen“ universe. And I loved both Ramona and Matias. They each have their POVs and both are great. The two characters feel very real, their respective backstories explain their actions well and I whooped with joy, when they started their deadly showdown. I read the book in one setting and couldn’t...

monadh: When I saw the announcement that Ilona Andrews had a book coming out in the Kinsmen Universe, I was rather surprised, as I hadn’t been aware that they were even planning an addition to this old series, much less that the publication date was imminent. I was assuming they were putting the finishing touches on Ruby Fever, the final instalment in Catalina and Alessandro’s story, or finally working on Hugh 2 or Aurelia/Julie 2, or even a new Innkeeper. But I really liked the original two novellas in the Kinsmen Universe, particularly Silent Blade, so of course I jumped on the opportunity to get my hands on Fated Blades.

I really liked it: it’s a quick, fast-paced and compelling read with lots of their trademark well-choreographed fight scenes that play like a movie in your mind (or at least in my mind). The story is difficult to summarize without giving away too much of the plot. It is set on the same world - Planet Rada - as the previous Kinsmen stories and even in the same province, Dahlia, as Silent Blade, but apart from that, there are no connections between the characters, except that they also belong to the class of humans that were at some point...
